Bit disappointed by this one...
The "In the club" parts weren't really my cup of tea anyway, that ain't different this time, so I'm not gonna comment too much on that.
"On the Beach" is okay, but that's about it. Some really decent tunes on there, but also a few filler tracks and some average vocal tracks that leave not much of an impression. But I'm definitely not feeling the track order/flow what so ever. The second track coming in after that gorgeous first track  (gr8 job on that one from Andy Duguid once again) feels like an instead mood killer for me and I kept that feeling the entire CD. I think the third track for instance would fit the first track a lot better.
Mixing is good (Ableton  ), although sometimes it is fairly quick and abrupt (also from Track 01->02), which kills the mood a bit.

...and those three excerpts generally reflect my overview of the past few installments.
You can always count on the Club disc to be absolutely dreadful, as there's way to much 'ARMIN!' going on in that mix. I can typically count on the first disc to be at least slightly better than decent due to it hanging around in territory at arms length away from ultra-super-Epic Trance.
Two discs of 'On the Beach' would be rather nice. |

| This is much better than 2008/2007 ASOT editions put togethor. Great compilation overall thumbs up from me. Love the Vocal sections on CD1, and CD2 snapshots ASOT's current state. |

I love how he releases this CD during May, surely all the tracks in the CD would represent the whole of 2009. |
THAT'S your problem with these? :stongue: |

I am loving Disc 1!
From what I have listened to on Disc 2 is somewhat slow, not clubby at all, but I have to admit I love it anyway... I think its very uplifting and really carries its way thru.... I was surprised over all... |

Not looking forward to this some nice tracks like the Omnia remix judging from the samples, the intro is lovely IMO.
Find yourself (Cosmic Gate remix) Not a fan of it at all.
Gaia is a bit weak tbh, I was expecting more. You can hear the full version of it on youtube.
But anyways Armin's new 5/10 or 6/10 for me. |
