Ferry Corsten this Sat at Vanguard... (pg. 5)

My Q&A session wasn't really a Q&A session. It was like, "the challenge today is to try to get a word in between Mikey Mike's sentences" session...

LOL, just messing with ya...

Anyhow, I did feel weird even seeing people I know down here...because everyone seemed to be with their own local friends and I am not one to shove myself into groups, situations, etc...so most of my night was saying hi, speaking for a minute, and moving on so I didn't make anyone feel like I was intruding.

I just need a night where I can really drink and let loose...or just a night where the music and crowd is crazing and we all end up jumping all over each other going nuts to teh musik, lol. Wonder if that can even happen these days. I've only seen that at Circus, but way back in the day when the crowds there were pretty much just like the Ten15 crowds. >:p

I was at deep on sunday and the barman (outdside) said the club was noticably low on numbers for Ferry.

He said he'd noticed in general, people are coming to the big clubs later and later (1-2am) rather than 11-1 as used to happen.

He said it always happens the week before memorial day as well.

Basically it boils down to money. People go to cheaper bars first rather than drink expensively in clubs and aren't going out as much in general. Combine that with $40 entrance and you're not going to get the numbers...

it was sold out for Armin just a couple of weeks ago at $50 presale and with $60 at-the-door cover. easily 500-700 more people were there....

is Armin THAT more popular than Ferry?

PVD nights used to be so insane at Vanguard when he was #1...so if Ferry rises to #1 then watch out! Makes total sense that people are showing up later at Vanguard, as bar drinks are now $12 and water is $6, and that's after $20 parking... I'm sure the Car Bar is getting more popular as well!

I'm looking forward to going back to Circus again soon, mainly for the more reasonble sound volume that doesn't blow everyone's heads off, but free parking, entry and a drink don't hurt either! Interesting to see how clubs respond differently to The Great Recession!

Armin has been bigger than Ferry for a long time now, and prob since hte early 2000s overall. I've seen Ferry nights be noticeable non-crushing before, in both SF and in LA. Armin is always packed, no matter what night of the week. Long before he became #1. Prob because of ASOT.

Or even that "White" party from a few years ago w/ him and ATB. Think that's the biggest club night ever in LA...for any club.

I was at Sensation White NL that weekend...bought my ticket long before they switched the lineup to @#€¥ House music! Ironically, Armin played at Sensation White the year before. But I did see Armin for NYE in LA, and that was nothing short of spectacular! :D

The crowd really went off to Brain Box, another bangin track from Ferry's new album! :D

From his new album, but the single was released in mid-2007. It and the original version of it, "The Race (Bavaria City Racing Theme 2007)" (same track, but with race car soudne effects)...

:-p

Are you talking about the "White" party at Circus when Spundae was there? That has to be one of the best nights I've ever had at Circus.

I started to leave as he played that. Never liked that track, but that's not why we left :P

My highlight was these 3 tracks too, but I've noticed that the crowd ALWAYS seems to die down a bit whenever he plays Galaxia. No one respects that song for what it's worth.

"Ferry - We Belong (Tritonal Air Up There Remix)
Ferry - Galaxia
Binary Finary - 1999 "
