While this is not music I would typically play, I have to say that this debut album and the teaming up of these great producers is pretty awesome. I really really love the Shackleton remix of Rusty Nails, but there is tons of goodness to be had here. Some of you won't like it for sure, but I am sure a few of you might be blown away. I cannot wait to see them make their North American debut at Mutek <3.

As I already said in the May charts thread, this was quite a disappointment for me. The beats in 'Rusty Nails' sound just too much like 'Archangel' (it's a second track, too). 'Out Of Sight' is also very similar to 'Raver' (beats again, both are finishing tracks, coincidence?). I would have never thought these guys, who are excellent on their own, would actually rip off Burial.
Meh. The rest of the album didn't impress me either.
The idea of Apparat + Modeselektor doing album together indeed was enticing, however this sounded like they didn't put much effort in it. Still love most of what they put out solo. |

fair enough:)
I don't listen to this style of music as much as you most likely, so to me this did not sound like a ripoff. |

All in all, it's still decent, I just expected more from them.
Definitely see them live, especially Modeselektor, they put on a great show. They make people dance like monkeys. |

lol its a shame Burial beat up that wooden "TOCK" so bad that noone else can even use it now. I hear what you're saying and I hear the similarities. These samples are hitting me really nice though. Especially "Out Of Sight". This is going in my wantlist for further review :) |

There are some who use it and add enough personal touch to it so it doesn't sound awkward. Shed, for example. |
