Lee Foss Biography
Since childhood Lee has been drawn to music with a soulful feel and a distinct uptempo rythm. It was a late 80s/early 90s fascination with new jack swing, hip hop, and R+B that peaked his interest in music and gave him an ear for the soulful that still exists today in his house production and track selection. A long time music collector and part time dj, his interests spread to soul, disco, house and funk. After spending the better part of 3 years in Ibiza Spain, Lee had the opportunity to DJ as far a field as Germany the UK and around Ibiza, and came away with a distinctly electronic take on soulful music. Since returning to Chicago in 2004 Lee has rapidly become one of Chicago's busiest, and most forward thinking djs, and plays a distinct mix of soulful techno, 80s funk/boogie, electro/tech/deep house, and minimal funk. Due to his eclectic style, he is the first choice for Chicago promoters and venues to open up for truly cutting edge and distinct artists in wide array of genres. He has played alongside luminaries such as Booka Shade, Norman Jay MBE, M.A.N.D.Y. (Get Physical), Switch, DJ T (Get Physical), Lindstrom, Jamie Jones, Chris Liebing, Darshan Jesrani (Metro Area), Dixon (Sonar Kollektive), Lee Burridge, Paul Woolford, King Britt, Dan Berkson + James What, Ewan Pearson, DJ Craze, Gangstarr, DJ Spooky + many more. In addition to several residencies around town including weekly Thursdays @ Funky Buddha and Saturdays @ Ohm, he is consistently booked at major clubs like Spybar, Smartbar, Soundbar, Vision, Green Dolphin Street, Redno5, Wet, The Works (Detroit), as well as cutting edge music based lounges like Lumen, Sonotheque, Darkroom, Tini Martini, and Bungalow, as well as events at WMC, DEMF, and major cities throughout the country. Lee has also taken on gigs for major clients like Moet/Hennesey, The Shedd Aquarium, and RJ Reynolds. Spring 2006 sees the launch of Discrete Music as a brand/promotion group/label. With a series of loft/warehouse parties and a series of disco based club nights, and the overwhelmingly popular mixed bag Kitchen Sink Weekly @ Funky Buddha, the future looks bright for the collective and for Lee. Expect an eclectic mix of deep electronic music with shades of Detroit and Chicago roots, and enough electronic funk to shake a stick at!

| Really looking forward to this party. We booked Lee after seeing him at the Crosstown rebels party in Miami. The party started about 5:30am and he had the dance floor rocking quickly. He's definitly an up and coming talent you don't want to miss. |
