I've come across these monitors many times and have heard good reviews on them, what are the major differences in specs between the 3 different models? What could i get better for around the same price?

i wanted to get the opinions of producers and audio engineers off here, learn to respect others, especially when they havent offended you at all.

LMFAO.

Quality.

To the original poster, the answer is size, volume and bass extension.

Tbh, I can't tell you much else cause I don't own monitors unfortunatly.

Think about other brands such as Event and Tannoy however, same price price and from reviews I have read, they offer a better sound quality than KRK.

wow. dont mind echosystm.
clearly having a bad day or blue balls syndrome.

imo. i wouldnt get rokit krks. ive owned the 6s. and they are very muffled-sounding.
i dunno why they get such amazing reviews. the midrange is amazing and punchy but there just is no high end detail which is very important in club music. i can see the rokits being amazing for rock or pop music...

you live in toronto. take a cd of your fav song and dip into long and mcquade and check em out.

alternatively for that price range i recommend checking out m-audio bx8s.
i wouldnt go with anything else... ie) yamaha ns, behringer truth, etc. they just dont really work well for club music.
id still go with maudio tho (dont care what anyone says about how maudio is bla bla or that the bass is exaggerated bla bla)... over the years they have started to build some really quality and affordable music gear.

if you are making club music the maudio bx8s have a great freq response with crisp highs and fairly wide bass.
makes it easy to work with and your mix will translate into a club easier.

IF price was no option tho.. def get mackies or adam7s but thats double price point of the bx8s.

ive had alesis m1 mk2s, behringer truths, rokit rp6, maudio bx8a, mackie hr6s... (in that order)

but best is go into a music store and check em out. thats just my 2cents.

and anyone that says you need a naturally FLAT response monitor across the spectrum is just going by a textbook..

in reality.. flat response is good.. BUT naturally you will produce to exaggerate your mix to compensate because your ears are used to (and appeal to) a bit more hyped sound which will translate wierd on a club system.

also. bass mixing is subjective and all experimental to your taste.
if you go on beatport.. producer's bass presence on songs vary from producer to producer.
so just go with what feels best for you. and mastering will normally tidy the spectrum anyways.

cheers.
