finding that out kinda makes me want to punch Christian Bale in the throat. Did they not tell him that the sequels were to focus more on Markus' character??? that Markus would end up being as iconic as John Connor? He probably should have taken Markus' role instead of Johns 'IF' that's the case.
As for the movie.....i saw it last night. I thought it was pretty good. It seems like the series is getting back on the right track after the HORRIBLE 3rd release.THE SPECIAL EFFECTS IN THIS MOVIE ARE ING GREAT. Tons of action, blowing up , robots......def. worth seeing just for that....IN THE THEATRE. I've never felt a theatre rumble so much, it was well done in that sense. I actually wish John Connor's character had been more of a tough guy, he was kinda a in this movie. I loved Edward Furlong as John Connor, because he was such a little badass punk with attitude....and i could totally get him becoming the leader of the resistance. Christian Bale in this movie was Mr. Nice Guy, and was kinda lacking balls. Def. the key character in this one was Markus, he was far more interesting (and important) that Connor....so if that was the point (for the sequels), then they succeeded. Wasn't Connor supposed to be the HERO though??? wasn't that what all this was all leading up to? If so, he was pretty overshadowed in this one.....so i'm a little confused on that. I agree that the characters could have been better written, I also didn't really feel overly connected to them.
but still.....def. worth the $13 to see it in the theatre. I give it a 7.5/10 |

I'm still going to see it tomorrow night with my bro, but I don't have high expectations. My favourite is actually the first one because Arnold was so bad ass and it was much darker in tone. I love the second one as well, but started to appreciate the original more as I got older. The third one had some cool sequences but overall it was like a parody! lol
Oh and to the OP, your complaint about the ending leaving it open for sequels..well yeah. Christian Bale signed on for a trilogy. It's his "other" franchise now.:) |

The studio felt they needed the name behind it. He's one of the hottest actors out right now. Movie studios are mostly ed up and the director/screen writers often have to deal with interference and "suggestions". McG sounds like a "yes man" director who has no creative talent nor any balls. He sounded like such a bitch in that Bale set blowup audio file from awhile back.
But in the end, the movie will make money anyway and the suits know that. |

T2 is by far my favourite action movie. It's flawless.
