I'm taking another listen, tomorrow, and may make a few adjustments to the final mix, but right now, I'm happy with the result. I knocked out a lot of the bassy muddiness and clarified the top end. If anything, I may have gone a little harsh, so, please let me know if the high-end is too loud.

I'll be working on the artwork and will add that, shortly.

It took me a few listens to get comfortable with the way the melody fits over the major chord progression, but now that it's settled in, I really like it! The intro establishes a really cool groove and I really like the vocal effects. The mix is pretty muddy on my system, but I figure that it's just because it's a WIP.

Ive listened through the whole track now.

I think the vocals and upper mid synths works well.

But the drums and the bassline sounds muddy, unclear and undefined, i think it would have sounded better if you uses a more `4th to the floor`ish beat, atleast i feel all those extra kickdrums arent doing anything good for the mix, and occupies the bass and lower end of the track, and causing it to lack drive and punch.

I can imagine a beat more like this in my head

X---S-X-X---S---

With an prominent maybe 80s type of snare, at least that is what my head wants :)

Sweet!

Yeah, I was a little worried about a couple of tracks but could still hear the definition in the mix, on my monitors (See Real Monitors thread in Production Studio). I'm assuming you're referring to a lot of low-end boom and/or bass mud, present in the mix, and not a lack of definition in the higher registers. I also tacked out some of the higher frequencies that I thought were a little harsh so... I took some measures, in light of that feedback to eliminate some of the low-end and will get back to this on Wednesday with less fatigued ears.

The chord progression just kind of came to me when I was laying out her vocals and took two or three shots to finish. I had reservations but it worked and I didn't feel like they were re-writing your work - just variations on the original (albeit significant). I'm glad you liked it.

I wound up using the MIDI you supplied in the break for the pad.

Thanks, also, for providing the dry vocals. I worked with one song that had only wets provided and it wound up being a real PITA. Avonlea's were already there and didn't require a whole lot of treatment beyond mild compression, a de-esser, and a touch of verb.

I just got done cutting one of the BD's (the long one) tail down to a more respectable size - the meat of it's still there and improves the sound quality enormously. Shelving alot of the EQ of those drums is helping, too. I totally get what you're saying about the oomph and presence getting a bit dried up.

Thanks, both, very much for the technical feedback. I really appreciate it.

I actually really like it! I Can't give any decent criticism, so I'll leave it at this :p

I updated the track. The 320 version is obtainable from Soundcloud. I'll be uploading the artwork for it, soon. I'll be listening with fresh ears, tomorrow, so it may not be the final version, but, tonight, I'm somewhat happy with it.

Glad you like that little ear-candy lead sound. And thanks for the honesty.

Super-sweet!

Thanks for making the remix pack available. The vocals were a distinct pleasure to work with and it's a really well written song.

I like this, large bassy breaks are right up my street! Everything is pretty solid from what I hear.

Good job!
