Did anyone see this guy? He was on the Beatport stage from 2 to 4 - kind of a scruffy-looking dude with a beard. Anyway, I wasn't expecting very much from anybody today aside from Carl Cox (who delivered in spades, by the way), but I was really impressed with Baytala's sense of build and release. His track selection was superb, his mixing skills were great, and he actually spun vinyl. He did have a couple records skip, but he covered well and still managed to mix perfectly every time. I actually stayed for the whole set, which I really wasn't expecting to do.
I think part of the reason that the next DJ got such a great reception at first was due to him warming the crowd up. |

Nikola is great. Met him 2 years ago at WMC after he did an opening set for the Hallucienda party.
