YES

U cna make a huge amount of money if you hit the big time. They are getting many thousands of pounds for doing a 2 hour set. And im not sure about remixing :)

i've heard cass 'n slide ask 8000 pounds for a remix.

I read in a dutch televisionguide that Mauro pPicotto earns around 250,000 Euros a month, only by dj-ing!!! :eyes: :eyes:

And he's also a labelmanager, AND his productions are very profitable ;)

I have a hard time believing this, but I heard that PVD was once paid $18,000 to DJ at the Hard Rock cafe in Las Vegas. If that is true, that I'm in the wrong profession (IT field).:D

Carl Cox originally asked for R1 000 000 for his NYE set 1999/2000 (Thats roughly £71 000), but seeing as Cape Town is his favourite place to Dj, he dropped it down to R100 000, isn't he nice :D

Perfect life?

What about when you wan't to get married and settle down (pvd) He comes home every the morning after spining at a superclub probably spends no time with his family. You really have to devote your life to this or else its not gonna happen.

If your in it for money you'll never make it. It's gotta come from the soul. Then the money will come. There is too much competition nowadays to make big bucks in this industry. And nate is right, these guys spend a lot of time away from home following their dreams. Much respect to all the djs/producers who made it.;)

unless your the best of the best, you wont make it big time as a DJ. youll have to produce first (prefelably a remix), mayeb make your own stuff theb get good at that then DJ. producing is the only way forward, theres to many DJ's out there. look in the town or city you live in think how many there are of them. ID love to DJ, but im going to produce some remixes in my spare tiem first. just remixes dust.wav but it aint that good, so gunna try sunburn instead :D

Nucleogenesis
ya sure , but you gotta be popular though

It really depends on the DJ and the venue. I live in Indianapolis Indiana, USA, and I work at a local night club here, mid-level DJ's like Christopher Lawrence can cost $6000 or more. I also know that it cost $60,000, yes that is $60,000, to bring the Sasha and Digweed tour here a couple of months ago. Not all that money goes to the DJ since it was a huge tour where they brought there own sound system and lighting. If you figure they did 20 cities or so on that tour at $60,000 each, that is over a million dollars. I don't know how much Sasha and Digweed received, but I bet it was a lot.
