i'm so sick of government regulation...i'm more sick of people that are ok with giving up their power to governments..being regulated and legislated to do things that should be common sense or a choice...human beings are just being programmed to have every decision made for them..and it's become such a huge part of our society that they don't even notice it anymore...talk about being spoon fed...

like someone said..they don't want to waste time to educate so they just force the issue with laws and legislation...it's the quick and easy way to deal with things.....

If I had a lawn I would get a mechanical push mower. Something classy about having one of those (having to sharpen the blades, the unique noise, etc).

I had a neighbor who had one and it worked great. The key is to hone the blades before every use and keep it well oiled.

As an aside: as a former professional lawn care expert, the cutting of grass via a circular rotational blade (traditional lawn mower) does not come close to creating a nice lawn vs. a horizontally rotating blade. If you see what they use to cut grass on golf greens you will see an automatic version of the mechanical push mower (horiztonal blade rotation). The horizontal cutting puts less stress on the blade and (assuming the blades are sharp) produces a much more even, green and "fuller" pitch.

If you can't operate an electric lawnmower without fear of running over the cord, or can't be bothered to mow your lawn at least once a week so that your electric mower doesn't get bogged down in your terribly kept lawn, you should probably kill yourself

Indulge my curiosity here - what is your definition of "necessary?" And "need?"

My neighbours used some of those old mowers back when I lived in North York, and I can't say I was much of a fan, but you're indicating an urgency here that's not substantiated by anything in particular, and as a defense you claim it's OK because it's going to take a few years to implement. Please tell me I don't have spell out what's lacking from your argument.
