I mean I only have a few of their releases but come the on.

I can name at least 10 labels putting out that techno/tech-house sound miles better than Cadenza IMHO.

We don't have to agree. I just happen to think their sound is boring.

I dont care for the plink plonk percussive nature of most Cadenza releases, but in the realm of that sound, they are top notch. They have nice cover art, great mastering. Its just the sound in general is getting beat to death

i was snoozin' 2 mins in.

but it sure beats the 'bodega house' they been putting out lately.

i HATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE that track with a passion.

i cringeeee every time i hear it out, literally run away from it.

the SECOND that effin flute comes on, see ya!

Yah...I don't care for arrangements that go on beyond 9 minutes. There is only a handful of tracks that I can listen to more than 10 minutes. It's not a strike of brilliance from the Producer to make tracks that are 10-14 minutes long, more of utility purpose. Though I'm sure there are some that measure music in this way, but I don't see it. But I can see how people will look at a 6:00 minute track and say...meh it gots a small ass, while this 10:00 track has a big ass, and I like big ass, actually the producer is more talentedzzzz zomg 10 minutes, how did he dooooo that? I'd take a well done 7:00 track over a watered down 10:00.

The thing is that with Vinyl releases, mostly Minimal and Techno Producers usually want to make use of one side as much as they can and give DJ's a few ins and outs, and Tool areas in the arrangement, because of the sparseness of the music, and the grooves that can easily lock and layer over another groove.

Most producers could make 10 minute or 14 minute tracks. Personally, I LOVE the arrangement portion of making music, once i've created my sounds, melodies, chords, bassline, percussion, etc. But I avoid it, because I don't think 10 minute or 14 minute tracks translate well for most genres of music, or are of interest to majority of DJs outside of Minimal or Techno listeners and DJs.

Not to mention the feeling of unfulfillment and abandonment of the piece of music alltogether by the listener, because they could not stay for the whole 10 minutes or 14 minutes, and there is little chance many will return to the piece of music if they have to put up with 10-14 minutes every time they want to hear it, as good as the music might be. They don't have to, but then if they don't it goes back to the feeling of abandoning (im sure there is a better word) the piece, which leads to unfulfillment (im sure there is a better word), and humans generally like to finish things before they can say they truly enjoyed something. Listening to music...and not finishing the track, there can be some enjoyment, however, listening to a piece of music and finishing it till the end, leads to the ultimate enjoyment and ownership. This is part of why Pop music can get really popular, tracks are usually only 3 minutes long, and most of the music has a high ratio of the listeners actually listening from start to finish, and subsequently feeling attached to the piece of music subconcsiously.

So there is some psychology and philosophy involved in why I personally get my point accross within 6:30-9 minutes, even though its very easy for me or any Producer to make a track 10-14 minutes through arrangement, especially if you have good arrangement skills. Unless I was doing minimal, I see no purpose for 10-14 minute tracks, because of the genres of music I produce and the mixing style of DJs in those genres, and of course I don't want to disconnect with the listeners who want enjoyment and fullfillment in the music they choose to listen to. And on a subsconcious level, a sense of achievement and ownership by listening to individual pieces of my music to its end.

Agreed. It's just the quality of their music that's so impressive. You don't have to like it to appreciate it. Personally I am still blown away by the aforementioned (by me) Uva Fragolina EP. I don't know if it got noticed much, especially Sassicaia, since it came out around the same time as La Mezcla (which I'm already very tired of). Same for Argenis Brito's EP (but I wasn't personally a big fan of that). Favorite track though personally is A Chico A Rhytmico, can't beat that.

Fair enough. I'll consider checking out the full catalog once again.

I'm just pointing out theres a difference between not liking them much and saying they're "one of the most boring labels around"

They are up there in the top 5% actually putting out semi decent music at worst imo.

Save the hyperbole for your momma ;)

LOL I didn't give up. My opinion was pretty loosely constructed out of the Cadenza tracks I've stumbled across through the countless live sets I listen to everyday. Why not go over their catalog again? I never said my opinion would change.

Open mindedness, man.

I would have respected you more if you stubbornly disagreed with long poetic abstract psuedo artistic replies that noone bothered to read
