06/06/09, 06/07/09 - Congress Theater - Metronome Celebration/ Block Party
The Metronome Celebration Saturday June 6th and Sunday June 7th.
http://www.metronomechicago.com/
Milwaukee @ Armitage and Western
The Metronome Celebration combines the best traditional elements of Chicago street festivals,
with a commitment to unique, original entertainment and providing a better life for all members of the local community.
The weekend will feature over forty original bands on 5 stages featuring a Rock Stage planned by Empty Bottle Presents,
a Punk Stage curated by MP Productions, an Electronic Stage selected by the Congress Theater, and a Folk Stage booked by
The Chicago Bluegrass & Blues Festival. The Local Stage will feature talent from the local schools and neighborhood.
Add in a diverse menu from over 20 restaurants, Green products and service providers, arts, crafts, jewelry and more,
and you’ve got a quarter-mile of the best of what Chicago has to offer.
The Metronome Celebration will benefit the Logan Square Neighborhood Coalition,
which will distribute proceeds to the Greater Goethe Neighborhood Association,
the Logan Square Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Goethe School,
Chase Elementary and a Sustainable Project Competition that will help to provide a better life for area residents.
And with an aggressive recycling and bio-degrable sourcing program,
we have set a goal of keeping 50% of our refuse from clogging local landfills.
We are excited to bring something new to such a great neighborhood and provide much needed funding to our community organizations.
We look forward to seeing you at Metronome ‘09.
