Not that spectacular. I went to see AC Slater, and it wasn't that great. But, then again, there were like 50 people max in the club. Hopefully, GE will bring out the crowd. |
Is it worth getting VIP at this place? Wanna get my tickets now while they're dirt cheap. |

Gareth is great. Brought him to Dallas last year and he killed it.
Light Bar is a hole. |

| I guess I'll be catching him if/when Mike brings him to Houston |

I have no idea where the VIP section is. jonas is right-- Light Bar is pretty much a hole. I'm not even sure if they have any type of light equipment. The only reason I am considering this is GE - Metropolis & Exposure own my soul right now. |

Since when? I guess the last time I went there (2 - 3 years ago) it was pretty sick. It was sort of a chill/loungey type place. The drinks were overpriced but the crowd was vibrant. The deck was lame though. |

You might be thinking of Sky Lounge. Most trance acts that came into town a few years ago usually played there. However, Sky Lounge hasn't hosted anything in a while. Light Bar, which is right next to it, is where most of the NightCulture gigs are played now.
Light Bar usually played alternative stuff a couple of years ago. Haha, I even tried to get a gig there.
However, I've never been upstairs so you might have experienced something different. |

No. It was Light Bar. I wasn't drunk enough not to remember. They actually played house music there that night. I went with my cousin and even she was like "WTF? They're playing "techno" here...that's weird."
Again, it was my first (and last) time visiting the place, so it left an impression that it was actually a pretty decent place. I haven't been down 6th street since Mardi Gras in 2006, so I'm pretty sure lots has changed since.
Jonas is a prostitute btw. |

I was there about six week ago. Crowd sucked and the drinks are still overpriced. No lighting equipment and the sound system is worse than terrible. Pretty surprising since it's the guys that owned Sky. They really went half ass on this place. Could be something great with the huge rooftop patio. But it sucks. That is all. |

I definitely remember the lighting system sucking a$$, and the sound system was kinda lame. That's mainly the reason why my cousin Lisa and I hopped from Light Bar to Sky in a matter of minutes.
It just sucks to see a place with such potential have so much neg. criticism (not only from TA's, but some of my neighbors as well). Hopefully NightCulture can tune some ass and start bringing in top talent. |
