I'm at a loss as to why you'd want to play this ty version on dancefloors when you could play one of the earlier and much better mixes instead, specifically the Cygnus X Mix.

Haha, this thread is hilarious to me.

I like the song.

But to say that you like the Corsten mix but Durands mix is awful despite both being pretty similar is a bit contraditory.

Fair enough you despise the lack of effort in the amount of time to make the track.

It does the job on the dancefloor, thats all that really counts these days. Keeps some of the 'trance was only good pre 1999' happy, and the new comers happy as well.

To me the whole idea of updating a classic like this and making it sound very much like some of the remixes that already exist, is stupid.

If you want to play the classic tune out again, why not play one of the old mixes?
No need to make a new one just to play it out again, especially when the remixes, and not to say the original, are better than this update.

My guess is he wanted some quick cash and to have his name on some classic tune since he can't make one himself.

The Corsten Remix was just a crappy copy of the Cygnus X Mix.

I agree. Never understood the hype of the Corsten remix. Even Transa's remix is a copy of Cygnus-X's remix.

You're an idiot.

The original wasn't even all that good to begin with BEFORE that abomination of a stab-riff was introduced. This rework is just another dry and bland rehash of the Ferry Corsten remix. Then again, iirc, bland and dry rehashes of obvious tunes is exactly what Durand's whole claim to fame consists of in the first place.

Nothing new under the sun, in other words.
