2 things puzzle me about this.
1) How the heck do you 'lose' a plane in mid-air. They're saying possibly a lightening strike.
2) Why can you only narrow down the potential search area to somewhere "3 times the size of Europe". |

and they sent out a whole 2 planes to search. |

| the survivors should check the flight manifest very carefully in case one of the people in their group was not on the plane. we all know what will happen if they don't account for people who aren't on the flight manifest. |
