Whats up with everyone talking down NJ Parties, theres a few good ones here and there, lol. Ill admit it tho, I havent been to an NJ Club in what seems forever, until this weekend. Went to a very small one in North Bergen/West New York, Bouncers were a joke (with suits, wtf?) and very pop/reggaeton driven. More like a bar imo that had regulars. Ill stick with NY for now. |
Where did you go in North Bergen? I'm from Cliffside Park. The last time I went to a club in NJ was Abyss almost 3 years ago to see Tiesto :stongue: |

agreed dude, unfortunately
i get asked to play "a little bit more commercial" (which means alot, because they'll come back 20 min later if you dont do alot) damn near all the time. really sucks.
was there a particular night/place that made you post it or you just generally thought about it? |
its was just a general thought.
I've seen alot bull regarding the scene in jersey and it really sux lately....
some venues are making progress while some are taking a step backwards esp those venues who rely on booking retired live acts over n over again |

njta's should just get together and start hostin parties :P |
trust me, nothing more would please me then to see some NJTAs get booked in Jersey clubs even a few NYTAs....
as much as I have an IN with some of these promoters, I still get shot when i make the suggestion for these promoters to look beyond Jersey Cheeze section and book some DJs who know what they are doing |

well to start out, we wouldnt be asking for a residency or something. if we could get a good group of worthwhile people to set up say a one time party then, if that goes well, turn it into a monthly?
im a pretty new to all of this so i dont know how any of this works. but judging by the amount of more experienced DJ's and such that we have lurking around here, i'm sure we could get a nice combination of experienced people getting things done |

It wasnt anything big, last minute thing that was set up, more like a bar with tables and some space to dance we went to as an afterparty after one of my friend's graduation. DeCache on 57-60th/Bergenline. I cant emphasize enough that the bouncers here really thought they were working for an extremely exclusive club. Makes the Pacha/Webster bouncers seem like the nicest people in the world.
Only club I look forward in NJ when Im old enough, haha, is Coco Bongo in Elizabeth, NJ. But posting that here is out of place since its not EDM/House in any way. They might play some commercial house tho once in a while. More of a latin atmosphere and music played on 97.9.
As for Abyss, I havent been back there since high school, hahahaha. Didnt get to go to Tiesto when he was there, but that was probably the last major event ever held there. The last thing I heard about that place is that there is a new club around there. |

There's one near there called CONGA's, there's always ladies there and what not, but not my scene really; I hear it's a good time though from one of the guys that works in my building... I live on 69th st. so it's right near me... |

That would be nice. Convenient too, can just hop on NJ Transit/PATH. |

You want a really sick spot to go to, go to TEAK in Hoboken... Music is ty, but the venue itself is so nice. It's asking for a sexy house monthly, looks better than most New York City spots and it's smack right near the Path station in Hobo.. |
