I want to upgrade my Ableton 7 to 8. The software upgrade is only $159, and the upgrade to the whole suite is $329. Is it worth forking out more money for the suite? |

What kind of music do you make?
For me, no. Might as well spend it on a good VST or a few good sample packs. |

Operator and Sampler on their own are worth the upgrade to Suite, I wouldn't say that for the upgrade to 8, not at this moment anyway, but as you have no choice probably... Give operator and sampler a go mate, you won't regret it! |

Yea, Sampler is what's attracting me to the Suite. Sampler alone is $150 which is the price difference between the regular Live and the Suite.
I use LIVE mostly for making loop based spanish rock remixes, mashups, and mixes. On other words I make a lot of edits of non danceable tracks so that I can play them live. I'm just starting out to mess with the producton.
Here's one I made the other day.

As you can see, I tried to keep it similar to the original, but I added some EDM influence to the breakdown. There's stuff I would change but I'm too lazy. lol |

Does anyone know if you can purchase the standard version of Ableton live 8, and then upgrade to suite later?
And if this is possible, is the upgrade price the same as the price difference between Suite 8 and Live 8? |

This is what I see when I log into Ableton's website.
I noticed the prices keep going up all the time.
I should've upgraded when it was $129.
