Think you missed the whole point.
Tiesto did not play to my expectations that he created with his previous shows and CDs. I was expecting a set that didn't necessarily play tracks from In Search of Sunrise 6: Ibiza, but I was expecting a set that sounded like it. |

| I still like Tiesto a lot. One of my friends that went with me really love the NATC set. He was disappointed Tiesto didn't play longer, but really enjoyed the set. But ya, in my opinion, that set wasn't any good. I'm not looking forward to paying $50 to see him play there again. Unfortunately it might cost $50 to see him play again anywhere it seems like. |

| Yeah i see what you mean man. His isos sound is amazing. There is no other cd's like them. Real smooth feel to them. Yeah seems like there was less of that in that show that night. When i saw him in charlotte it was completely different. He played a very high energy trance set. I miss both of those nights...good times. |

He definately didn't play a 4 hour set. He might have hit 3 hours, but I'm not even sure of that. I left a little after 4 too and I know Ian had been on for a few. I was really not sure what was happening when Ian came back out, so I hung for a few.
As far as what he played, I didn't care for it either because I was hoping for more from his ISOS and such too. I think he played a lot of techy, progressive stuff, but I guess that's not what I expected to hear from him. And Markus does play a lot of progressive stuff. He really only plays a few of the big "hits" usually. He seems very diverse. |

Yep, at the end of the day, it all comes down to expectations.
Markus honestly does exceed my expectations each time I see him.
Tiesto and PvD have come up far short the last couple of times.
Armin meets my expectations. |

I mean not that i think his set is any less good cause his style has changed...i absolutely loved his set last ime i saw him and wrote a blog about it. But yeah, he spins no progressive. Maybe your thinking of some of his deeper trance cuts he plays ala arnej and such. Schulz is epic regardless his current style...its always top choice. :D |

Just what comes to mind, I always thought stuff like Mr. Pit, which he seems to love, and such were progressive, but maybe I'm way off. Whatever his style, he is great, and compared to Armin or people like him, he really doesn't spin all that much of the epic trance stuff so to speak. He mixes it up a lot. |

From what I remember I thought the bass and overall sound was very loud for the room, especially because the room was so big and empty towards the back that it just sounded off to me. And I definitely left with my ears ringing (which doesn’t always happen and shouldn’t happen).
I remember being a bit disappointed with the time as well… I recall there definitely being a lot of bitching on here regarding how short he played and how good a job Ian James did. This was all during the EOL World Tour so I think all of us were hoping there would be either greater visuals/effects and maybe even a live performance (although that would have been a stretch after seeing the actual setup at NATC).
Regardless I, personally, was really happy with the tracklist as he started out the night with some ISOS 6 stuff but quickly progressed to EOL material and then threw in some trancers (including The Legacy!). I was keeping tabs on the songs being played (until some ass wipe threw water in the air and it got all over my $600 iPhone, which made me very angry at the time lol!). See below for what I had recorded down.
Overall I thought it was a fun night. I got my money’s worth as did my friends and we all enjoyed the music.

I remember not being able to hear a thing afterwards, which is not good. I've been to a lot of shows and that was the only one I was actually worried that I may have done some damage. I was in the middle of the crowd not too far from the huge speakers and I just remember the bass being so bad, it made me feel sick and I had to get out of the crowd and lose my good spot. I've never felt like that before. I think that is the night I decided to wear earplugs to any concert or dj and have never looked back.
If you are looking to hear a lot of Tiesto tracks, it was a great show, but there isn't much more in the setlist I really cared for. |
