Justify $28 service fees?

Seriously....I know betty and morgan post here. An explanation would be nice.

i would think the additional $$ is being used to pay the DJs or use of the park.....
face_nyc
isnt that what the ticket price is for?

you have any idea how expensive it is run this event....

permits for the ground
security
port-a-potty rentals
DJ fees
rider fees
promotion

and god knows what else
Groundhog Boy
I think the point is that people would rather know what the cost is going to be before they get to the confirmation page.

It's not just them, it's livenation and TM, too. Suddenly a $20 lawn seat turns into nearly $40.
AY STAR
i dunno if its made or the ticket company
anyone know?
i know ticketweb was kinda expensive, but i dont think it was this expensive i think this a new company
i miss the days of goin to satellite records on bowery to get tickets and the service fee was only 2 bucks!!!
or better yet when g-money sold tickets, the service fee was zero ha ha

I think the service fee is how the website selling tickets makes money. But yeah, $20+ is a bit outta control...

^^I agree

I wish Made had a place we could buy them direct to avoid surcharges. I cant imagine how much its going to be after June 18th when the code doesnt work anymore.

A response from someone at Made would be greatly appreciated.

Another thing, is Ultra like this too when it comes to that festival? in terms of surcharges?

yea totally miss the days when tickets were available at Satellite or even Rebel Rebel. We also used to try to avoid buying online whenever possible

i think ultra's surcharge for the 2 day pack was comparable to what's being charged for electric zoo; it was definitely over 20 bucks. (last time i went to ultra it was still one day - i think the early-bird ticket came out to 45-50 bucks with all fees included...).

promoters should just be up front about the costs and not expect consumers to subsidize events through back-end 'convenience fees.'

the funny part is made is directly selling tickets, its their own website and not thru a 3rd party website like ticketmaster or something
