Umm...you're still a DJ even if your not using discs or vinyl. You're just a laptop DJ. Ableton imitates everything that a mixer and decks would provide minus the MIDI controllers. |

I'm bringing this up only because I just read it on the ATB thread on New Releases Discussion...

Speaking of digital errors have you seen what the ableton timestetching does to the signal? It is nasty.
I don't know if the fixed it but it was nasty last time I tried it. |
Do you have any examples? Frequency analysis? It would be interesting to see. Timestretching is everywhere these days and sometimes it sounds like absolute even at 0.0% pitch (shouldn't even be on, eh?) |

No, they're not. I have a 5.1 version of this model and have been very satisfied with them over the years, for their size and their price (paid around $55 a number of years ago). They do distort at high volumes and the subwoofer now is a little boomy (torn or rotten foam?)
They're obviously not top of the line, but they're well made, I even DJed my very first house party on them and they handled OK. They survived a number of falls too. Good computer speakers, especially for a dorm room, but if you REALLY want to hear quality and have big sound, get bulkier and more expensive bookshelf speakers. I have to say that I haven't made much use of the 5.1 feature, so 2.1 would be a good way to go. I am, actually, using them in my office these days and had to turn the woofer all the way down so that it doesn't bother anyone :)

| Tks. It's just for the PC at home, for listening to music, gaming, and eventually some half-assed mixes. |
