never had both a javelin and a bold so i have no idea

It is probably attributed to the significant weight difference. The Curve is 111.5g, Bold is 136g, and the Javelin is 110g. :)

I think I will be sticking with my iPhone 3G with the OS upgrade. I will miss not having the video on the phone, but I have a digital camera that does better video. And almost everything else comes in the OS update other than some performance upgrades. Whoop de do.

I am just a little sad that it says the Internet Tethering is not yet available in the U.S.

And price of the phone really doesn't matter. It is how much you pay monthly that truly matters and with AT&T it is too much.

Main reason I may never get one for quite some time

Yeah, AT&T likes to over charge everyone for no real reason.

This.

Waiting for my contract to expire so I can switch to Verizon and the G1. The Palm Pre is pretty awesome. So much better than the Centro.

G1 isn't, nor will it ever be, on Verizon. ;)

...nevermind.

I have heard that the Pre will be available on multiple platforms after a 6-month exclusivity period with AT&T. Is this correct?

We don't know yet. The actual exclusivity terms have yet to be leaked. So, the length of the exclusivity is still unknown.

You can have video and tethering right now if you are jailbroken.

All the 4 3G's that i have had were jailbroken, yet apple gave me a new one every time mine cracked.

So the video recording technology is in the phone, just not on the OS? Wow.

There was no issue of technical limitations for video recording from the day it originally launched. The OS was the issue the whole time. Same with MMS, Exchange support, copy/paste, etc. Whack if you ask me.

Why does Apple refuse to provide the same impeccable service of their computers to their phones? lol
