Review: Rock the Boat w/ Audiofly & Reign afterparty

- Leaving at 2pm was predictable and annoying initially. Everyone in the line was getting annoyed and complaining loudly that they didn't even start letting people on the boat until 1:15. However, the promoters did almost redeem themselves by having the cruise go until 6.
- The Junkies played a great set for the boarding and first part of the cruise. Too bad it couldn't have been louder.
- The one Audiofly dude was average/meh. Played a lot of boring , but picked it up near the end, only to have the sound promptly turned off, 20-30 mins before the boat docked.
- The boat was kind of empty compared to other Rock the Boat cruises. I guess people got scared off by the weather which actually turned out to be ok.
- No sunscreen rule was ridiculous. I don't think I'll be able to go on future cruises on the River Gambler if this rule holds. It was fine on Sunday, but when it gets hotter, this will become problematic.
- Sound was way too quiet for most of the cruise which prevented me from really getting into it.
- Overall, the cruise wasn't that good, and wasn't really worth the money in of itself. Luckily I had fun with the friends I was with, but I could have the same amount of fun without having to spend the large sum of money it costs to get on a cruise.
Day Camp @ Reign:
- I love this patio, but it was way too packed and cramped for this type of party.
- Volume was turned right down to the point where you could barely hear it even at the front for Carlo Lio's set (likely because of the cruiser that was parked outside of the club)
- Bad vibe and aggressive people causing ftl.
- $7 Heinekens ftl.
I still had a great time on Sunday, but luckily I was with a good group. |

| If they dont allow you to bring sunscreen on the boat they should either: A) provide it for free in some sort of little sample pack (something the size of a ketchup packet) or B) sell it on the boat. |

i thought it felt more like april than june...nonetheless, its still possible to burn in that weather so i totally support sunscreen alternatives....

they handed out those packets at a few parties at WMC this year...companies got free advertising...partiers avoided burns...it's a win win situation...
anyways, I had a good time overall...my main complaint was the gender specific lines in which the guys were let on in record time while the girls were left shivering and waiting to be checked, for what literally felt like hours...it was too cold for that bs... |

that's because girls carry bags filled with crap.
guys just have 4 pockets consisting of only a wallet, keys and change... and if a smoker cigarettes and a lighter. |
