No, never was. Only vouched to be one. I have more experience modding huge forums full of childish behavior than anyone here (relaunched and headed up the GameSpot.com forums for awhile and before that relaunched another board tha is big in its own way..and still is today, though way more idiots are on it), that's for sure. Dealing with hundreds/thousands of post a day on just threads where 14 year olds bicker of which videogame system is better (aka System Wars)...ugh...and that was only one of the boards on the forum. :)

But I don't really have any interest in modding anythign right now.

You are the moderator and you should not attack anyone based on when you were a TA as I and other people never attacked you as soon as you became a moderator.... If anyone ever attacks me on here I will attack and clown back regardless if its a moderator or another TA regardless of what. I will admit I have attacked people before and have picked on people but this thread it was totally uncalled for we all actually had the same point. The owner of the house is dumb for having a party and anyone wearing white can get in specially if he wants to leave his antiques out.

Dude, if you are saying mods can't have any fun...then you are saying all mods should be s at all times. You obviously have ZERO CLUE on how to admin/moderate/etc a community. If a community was run with mods being like that, everyone would just run. There are times when, as a mod, poking fun is all in good fun, and there are times when it's time to be strict. The key is to find the right balanace, and him just starting out on here has one he has to get a feel for it.

When an admin/moderator cracks down hard on a certain subject or because of a certain situation and it's done right, people will respect him more in the future and be appreciative. But if he just comes in and swoops/kills every little thing that goes on that's not 100% positive on a subject or another poster, then that takes all the fun out of the community and also catches people off guard.

If someone has a problem with how they are being treated by others on a board, that person should PM the mod and talk to him privately. Of course, the mod shouldn't make it apparent that the person went running to him because then that'll cause more issues....but if a person really doesn't like it and approaches the mod privately, the mod can then handle the situation with a little patience and a proper notice to others the next time he sees it happening on the board. It also makes the person who went to the mod feel more comfortable that a person is looking out for him and is willing to be a little more patient on letting the situation be taken care of.

Modding/Adminning a popular board isn't nearly as easy as it sounds. It requires a lot of patience, babysitting, and watching how you handle things...

So if you have an issue, PM Bas and talk to him. If Bas doesn't do what you think is right afer that, move on to Swamper from there and then Swamper will either have to make the decission of either wanting to lighten up (prob by just ignoring you) or communicate with Bas that it's something he shouldn't be allowing. And from there if Bas doesn't agree with Swamper, it's his choice to either swallow his pride or step down as a mod and let someone else take over. Sometimes posters become mods and once they do, they don't like it because they find that can't be themselves and/or the policies they have to handle are a bit stricter than he feels comfortable with.

I can go on for days about how to admin/moderate a popular board properly......but I don't want to, so again, can we all just a a big JUST SHUT THE UP! (this applies to everyone...not just you!)

Exactly.

I should have. But I just lol'd my butt off reading the last couple pages.

I believe a mod should make sure replies are focused (or have somewhat) to do with the subject line. Most threads (especially those that have T-word) end up becoming bashing threads. People take sides. These threads would be flooded with females if some users on here wouldn't make them cry.

Maybe some rules or TA laws should be made. Maybe someone can draft a TA Constitution. :haha:

As always, thanks for all the entertainment!
