i cream on this~
.Choose the manual mode and you can select the gear. Tap forward or back on the lever to precisely shift up or down. If you want the XLR's electronics to do the work for you - move the lever to the automatic position.
.XLR will feature the next generation of the renowned Northstar V8 in a rear wheel drive configuration combined with advanced chassis technology to deliver unparalleled responsiveness and agility. |

lols manual and automatic lord i love it, but im still skeptical about the manual...it says "push lever forward and back"
now to me thats not much of manual..eletronically controlled manual transmission? manual and electronic just doesnt work for me. wtf ok this is becoming to much "cruisin usa"ish
i want the momentum wen i throw the gears...its like the lazy mans way of driving stick dont ya think? |

Grats on your new car. I test drove one, it's very smooth. I am looking to buy the new E46 M3 myself but I am holding out till next year because of some of blown engine cases. Apparently some of the new production ones blew out because of localised oil starvation in engine. BMW hasnt admitted to this problem oficially and because of this some of the dealers are just *fixing* the engines and not completely replacing them. I am looking for a dealer that will sign some sort of paper saying that if this problem happens to my M3, they will replace the engine and not try to *repair* it.
Currently, I have a 350Z Track on order. I am going to supercharge it and see if it can do new 4.5 secs once it gets here in September. Without turbo or Supercharger it's projected 0-60 on track model is 5.2-5.4 secs. I am hoping a supercharged one will do about 4.5 secs. If it does not then I will dump it.

Hey Andro!!!
1) I am still in line for E46 M3, my turn is here, but I am holding off for 2003, since it might get some monor cosmetic changes, DVD nav and hopefully ENGINE fixed (BMW will never tell what tthey did though)...
So engine should be fine by then...
2) Z350 is HOT!!! I heard that turbo one will follow in a year or two, but Nissan is shush for now..
www.freshalloy.com and www.nissannews.com is good places to check..
I am on www.bimmer.org for my BMW needs.. :)
Good luck with your Z350 track.. Iwould go for track also.. Brembos and lightweight R18!!! for money Z cant be beat..

I'm a huge Bmw enthusiast and especially the M series..and first of all, to anyone that wants to know about M5's and M3's...The M3 is faster by .2 seconds 0-60 but altough they're both limited to 155mph..the M5 would take it in the long run topping out at over 175.
Its sad to see that the M3 is selling for 60 grand but with those looks, power and precision...it should be worth somewhere in the 70's.
In my opinion, I like the 97-99 M3 better. Its proven to be more aerodynamic and I love its sleek look.
If your looking to buy a Mercedes CLK, the new CLK500 will be available soon. It looks very much like the baby CL500 only cheaper. |
