:wtf: Sorry to start another mixer thread but oh well :)

My question is what mixer would you guys recommend for me...I'm going to be buying second hand CD decks from a friend of mine (he's moving to vinyl), and I need to get myself a mixer. I can already beatmatch / mix quite ok, since I've had a lot of practice on his equipment.

These are the feautures I'm looking for in a mixer, nothing fancy, just the basics:

Kinda important features (most have a high duh-factor ;) )

  • three way EQ / channel, prefferably with kill function (-26 / -32db). kill SWITCHES not needed
  • LED level meter per channel + main
  • crossfader (not really important, but nice to have)

VERY important:
  • quality faders, they have to be smooth, durable and not bleed
  • Overall a quality mixer that doesn't break / high durability
  • Value-for-money
  • I'm on a budget :( , so max price is 250,- euro

Basically I'm looking for a decent mixer within my pricerange. thnx :)

You might want to check out the Behringer VMX300.

yeah I read the huge thread about them. they seem nice, but there were also a few people in there who complained about the (cross)faders, and overall quality of it. It looks cool though.

I don't need the BPM counters or killswitches, so I was thinking if there are any similar mixers with better durability and without those features in the same pricerange.

Vestax PCV275 is a good mixer.

the EQs only go down to -16db -12 for the mids. i wish they went a little further.

but, it does have kill switches for each frequency.
you say you don't need them, and i thought i didn't either, but trust me, they rock.

Vestax PCV275 is a lot more expensive around here... I've seen them from 670 to 725 euro's ... Am I looking at the wrong shops or are mixers just a lot more expensive here?

You're kidding!? That's like $988 - 1069 Canadian.... and I've seen a PCV-275 here for around $700, and I thought *that* was a little too expensive.

Damn, that's unfortunate. It's really a sweet rack. Since you're in Europe though, shouldn't the Behringer be cheaper? Maybe you could check that out. I'm not too sure though. Hope I've helped.

I'm really starting to wonder whether it's just me checking out the wrong shops... because when I compare the prices... see for yourself:

Numark:

definately get the behringer then. the price difference is because of of the availability where you live. Behringers are more common in Europe, so they'll be cheaper.

I got my 275 new off of ebay for $375 US.

what do you guys think about this mixer?

    Magnedine MAG-10
  • Three band EQ per channel(-26dB)
  • Level + beat LED per channel
  • 100mm faders :D
  • Price € 269,00

looks kinda nice, esp like the big faders, and it looks a lot less 'plastic' than the VMX300 which is € 286,79 ( OMFG )...but I have never even heard of the brand. Anyone know it...? is it reliable?
