I believe it's from, like, a Sunday morning "tea" party, but this is one hell of a party...almost 35 years running. I think by now the 't' in the name implies more than just a "tea" party: T-gurls, enTranced (read: high), etc. It should be in the dictionary:
"tdance (n): A gathering, party or other event involving gratuitous ingestion of mind altering house music at the crack of dawn on any given Sunday. Continuation of the previous evening elsewhere. Often coincides with intoxication on many levels by participants."
