It's spelled Scheisse, for anyone who cares. Though you'd have to be more explicit when talking about those movies - if you just spoke of "scheissfilme" you'd be referring to any crap movie. The actual films involving scheisse are in the "Natursex" category. I haven't seen them myself, but I was in a video store in Germany one time...normal video store in the front section, all the latest movies and so on...then you walk through the curtain...voila!

Just got an email from Sweetwater ...

Hi Alan,

The Waldorf Largo is now in stock and shipping:
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Largo/

Thanks!
Stephen Wiley
I just conditionally ordered a copy from sweetwater. They're checking to see if two licenses are available so I can use it on my laptop and desktop. If I can, the order will go through. If I can't, it is a deal breaker. I'm not buying Largo twice. I feel like I'm already going out on a major stretch here. I can't find a single customer review and I don't trust beta testing review. Needless to say I'm rolling the dice here. Hopefully I'll have it soon. I'll let you guys know how it is.

They don't even list how many presets or how much space the damn program uses. I guess it's supposed to be one fat surprise when you buy Largo. It better be a good one.

Hey Stephen, there's a bunch of useful info from Largo users at:

BTW, it looks like it only comes with 128 presets.

Yeah, I got this on order. Should be here very soon (got posted today so in the next few days I hope).

I've seen a few comments on it and they seem to be positive.

I think I would rather have 128 very good presets as opposed to thousands of alright ones. I think one can get a bit bogged down with too many.

I suppose it leaves scope for new banks to be produced/sold I guess.

the 128 presets will be probably as good as the demo mp3s on the waldorf website :toothless

I wonder if the small number of presets is because Waldorf feels that this is a programmer's synth, or (more likely IMO) because they were just feeling the pressure to get it released and didn't want to delay it any longer by waiting for their sound designers to provide more presets. If the latter, then I'd expect that they will announce new banks over the next few weeks/months. It's very unlike Waldorf to not have a lot of good presets right out of the box.

BTW, a Waldorf rep chimed in over on KVR earlier today and announced that there will indeed be a downloadable demo version of Largo, but said that they have no time frame for it yet.

i think their politics are "u want presets? get our hardware"

Yeah, as if they're actually going to release Stromberg in our lifetimes. :p

I was going to get Largo, but I've decided to go with an XT/Q Rack combo instead. :D

I already have the XT coming in on Friday ... Shadow Edition. Only 666 made.

Hopefully Largo will accept presets from the Q so if I do a sound bank, it'll work on Largo, as well.
