Time stretching tools

Hello everyone!
I'm currently in the market for a high quality time stretching tool. I've been using cubase's MPEX2 algorithm to time stretch my music and it works really well, but I feel it's a bit roundabout to have cubase installed just for that reason. So what I'm wondering is if anyone could give me some good recommendations for audio processors that have high quality time stretching as a feature, perhaps there's even a VST that would do this?

| What daw are u using as u dont want to have cubase installed? Isnt there good timestretching in ableton? I dont know havent ever timestretched anything. |

| Reaper has a great timestretch algorithm, have the DAW bpm at the speed you want, just drag the file onto a track hold down alt and drag the right hand side to align with the grid. Export FTW |

Thanks for the replies.
However, I don't wanna have a separate DAW just for time stretching, that's why I was asking in the first place. I'm currently using FL as my DAW and it's native time stretching is somehow bugged with my system. So what I would need is some kind of standalone or VST that does high quality time stretching. |

| I heard that Serato's Pitch & Time is one of the best. However, that's ProTools only. :( |

| yeah i'm curious about this too, which algorithm is solid for pitch shifting and time stretching |

| old program but still very good. Prosoniq EZ time stretch or Prosoniq time factory. only standalone for pc. i dont kow the differences in them but they are great..BT still uses Time Factory for time stretching vocals. |

The best timestretching algorithm as I know of nowadays is Abletons. But it's pretty expensive for just wanting the timestretchning future of it though.
However I dont' see the problem with another DAW for working with timestretching. I don't think there's any good vst's, and it would probably need you to bounce the audiofile anyways. |

Eh? I'm pretty sure ableton's is (at best) only just up to scratch with reaper as of the new version.
Melodyne is your answer mate. best in the business IMO. |
