Problem with USB ports and Virus

okie dokie, i had trouble a while ago with latency and timing etc from my virus ti...
i finally figured out, after re-installing the OS a couple times that it's because i run a wireless mouse (so it claims) through my macbook's USB port as well, so it's to do with slow USB workings...
atm i'm running into my macbook laptop: monitor dsi thing, firewire echo audiofire sound-card, virus ti, and mac keyboard which has my midi keyboard, and a wireless mouse plugged into it (since it works as a usb hub)...
hoping for suggestions on using these 4 usb things together to lower latency: is there a way to get a fast or really good hub for them all, or should i jiust buy a cheaper usb cabled mouse (instead of wireless etc), or what?
any suggestions welcome, it's fkng annoying running my virus so slow and !!!! can barely use it cause i have to stop and start my tune all the time, or bounce down synths when i don't want to, just so i can hear it properly...
cheers dudes and dudettes (if there are any in here?) |

I have the Ti and you really should buy a seperate USB card, in particular one with the Texas Instruments chipset, install it into a free PCI slot, and only have the Virus Ti alone hooked into it. This was the way recommended on many forums I read before getting a Ti and I've never had any issues at all. Its certainly worth a shot since a USB card is only going to cost around 20 bucks. |
