F that... All these remix contests that make you buy the remix pack strike a sour chord with me... I think it started with Sasha and Beatport, and ever since then, I've decided to boycott anything like it...

On the other hand, kill it, Frank, kill it!

The only time I ever bought a remix package(just saying that sounds weird) was when Radiohead did their contest for Nude. But, what justified it for me was that they gave out their album In Rainbows for free, or whatever you felt like donating. These guys want you to buy the whole album to get the remix parts, not even an option to just buy the remix parts.

A remix contest should be a venue for discovering new talent, not for selling records. If I want to support an artist because I like their work, I will, but for that reason only.

A production duo in NY actually got support by Sasha for their remix of Mongoose, even though they weren't the official winners of the contest. Remix comps can be a good way to get some recognition.

But oof, didn't see the fact that you have to buy the whole album, haha. That's rough. I'll have to go halvsies with someone I guess haha

agree with marcello.

you need to pay 20 or so bucks to waste another week or so making a remix with another 5000 other bedroom producers trying to attempt the same thing.

also wtf is up with the prizes?

nothing really worthy of winning.

i can see if it was for some notable gear and something even worth your time.

but a free cd signed by a bunch of tools, a tshirt and 2 whole comps to see them play. come on now. your basically doing all there dirty work for them considering they don't need to attempt a&r work. it just comes to them on a silver platter.

ill pass.
