what's the deal with this guy? i guess i'm more of a noob than i thought because demf was the first time i'd heard of him and apparently he's pretty big in the world of house. anyway, he had this really terrible emcee who kept yelling "we representin' chicago" (in detroit :conf: ) and "put ya in hands up" and other such garbage. also a bikini dancer who of course would gyrate her body in "sexy" ways over on the side of the stage, perhaps to distract from bbb's subpar mixing skills

and the stuff he played, dear god. i guess the stuff had a good beat to it but you hardly ever heard the beat because of the two minute breakdowns! at which point we would of course have to put our "in hands up" naturally

in conclusion, i learned that the worst elements of trance - obscenely long breakdowns, obnoxious MCs, and bikini dancers - have now all been successfully adapted to house. great job bad boy bill!

Agreed. I'm not a big fan of the popular progressive stuff that those very reasons.

You should have been at the Main Stage. Saunderson played a good set.

i also forgot to mention that he played after tiga, and tiga went over to him and tapped him THREE DIFFERENT TIMES to see if he wanted to do a crossfade, yet bbb ignored him every time. bill's emcee had to walk up to him and tell him that tiga was trying to get his attention

yes bbb sucks now, but he use to be dmc world champion. Meaning he use to be a turntablist. Go read up on him, he use to be a big dj, kinda washed up now bc I think he lost his drive to dj like he use to. Sad really.
notelfreak
he is (was) actually a pretty good turntablist back in the day.

there is an old vid of him doing a dj battle that he wins by ripping off his pants and scratching the record with his penis. He was a DMC champ.

other than that he has been washed up for quite some time now, but makes a lot of money by being a major investor in beatport.

^ pretty much this.

I was aware of the "turntablist" BBB, so when I saw him at DEMF I was a bit confused.

You can watch that DMC vid on YouTube, btw. (Censored, of course.)

find it please, youtube won't load from the office today for some reason.

for starters he uses cdjs now, and even if you can do some things with them, it is not the same kind of hands on approach that he used to pull off with 3 to 4 decks.
