yeah i used almost every sample pack thats out there and i picked the ones i liked for my track and so on. But what if i want to create another track, is there a percussion synthesizer out there that makes closed and open hi hats. Another thing where do the sample pack team get their hit hats from. Is it all generated from digital and analogue drum machines?

Edit: So yeah thanks to tekart, page 603 of the instruments manual of logic 8 shows you how percussion is made and aswell as bassdrums. Just load up the tutorial setting in Ultrabeat and your there.

Hrm, Ive never tried to make hats tbh. Just take any ole hat sample and mess with it.

You could also look in the battery libraries.

Google for sampleswap.

Have you used the Vengeance, Tom Penton, or Xfer? I don't understand how you can run out. If I can't find what I'm looking for, then I will usually pick one or some that are close and then go to town on processing them, crushing, flanging, phasing, whatever. With the use of effects plugins, just about anything is achievable. If worse comes to worse, start from scratch and use white noise or sinus waveform on a subtractive synth, coupled with pitch mod and filter envelopes, you should be able to make them if your worth your salt. <--- i think thats how the saying goes.:nervous:

Noise on a kick? Subtractive synthesis? A muddy kick is probably not a good idea. If you want a big noisey kick it would probably be a better idea to start with a simple sine wave via additive or FM synth and then layer the mids and highs over the top depending on the click you want.
