When it comes to language, yes. Proper usage in a language is a matter of common practice. What else could it be? |
Dude, you generally make very intelligent remarks that are almost always spot on...but the amount of stupidity on that statement is just too much. Going by that same line of thinking, you would also say that using "Techno" to describe all forms of EDM is "correct" due to common usage. ;) |

Yeah, what is unthinkable about getting your stuff stolen in Mexico?
Just had to reiterate that point again. |

That usage is "common" only in the U.S., as far as I know. U.S. does not constitute the majority of English speakers.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but you really are clueless if you think the only place where "techno" = EDM is the United States. |

Yeah, no. Sorry mate, not the case at all. The blanket term 'techno' is the same in Australia, the same in the UK, and the same in a number of other countries I've been to, English speaking or otherwise :p |

Lol, I've never heard it blanketed as Trance before :haha: Unlucky. |

Yeah, it really does suck.
"Hey, you listen to Trance, right?"
*facepalm*
"Not really, I mostly listen to House and Techno"
*stares*
"What's the difference?"
"Well...trance is faster, more melodic and generally cheesy, house is slower, and funkier while techno is more moody and repetitive"
"They all sound the same to me"
