how was Zabs? i was trying to swing by for my buddy's bday there but didn't get out of EDC early enough...
i heard Avalon was slow as well - they never opened the upstairs... a friend there said Lee was awesome... |

saw light shows upstairs when i was on stage.
lee & steve totally rocked. i danced non-stop the whole time. the last time that happened was during sasha's set @ amnesia closing party back in 2007. |

I just gotta say KUDOS to Clovis for a great opening set. I'm really appreciating the sound that is coming out of you (and i don't mean the farts;) ).

Lee was awesome. I wasn't really feeling lawler, seemed kind of flat.
Left around 3:30 cause my friend was tired and needed a change of scenery.
I recorded my set, will upload it soon :) |

Way da go Clovis .. I was really impressed with your set. Ya sound better in the big room :p:p
Lee was awesome but wasn't too impressed with Lawler. Funny, when I listen to lawler's sets from other events, he plays fantastic tunes but every time I see him live, I get disappointed -- I expect more. I dunno, maybe it's the alcohol that messes with my brain !!
Always good seeing some old faces & friends :)

after seeing them both separately thursday and friday i was so very excited to see them together on saturday, something i thought i'd never get the opportunity to see and was now going to get to. probably built up the excitement a little too much in my head, they are only djs however and not super heroes :rolleyes: but they are both my favorites and for that i got excited for the music i was going to hear.
clovis, your opening set was perfect, great job! glad you got that opportunity and you didn't fck it up ;) although you're crazy, lawler was not flat, you should have stuck around.
lee's set was great but a little too short wish he could have done 12-3 with steve going 3-6, but it was what it was. although thought it was funny that Good Voodoo got dropped twice within a 3 hour period, lol.
steve dropped I Get Deep like 3rd/4th track in, i fcking love that track and went crazy. he dropped so many tracks that i love, can't id them but whatever. when i saw him thursday we talked about this sick track he dropped at the end of his lights out night in miami and he told me he was going to drop it saturday. towards the end of his set he called me over and i was like is that track next and he's like how did you know. lol, and then when it came on he and i just look at each other and start jumping up and down and smiling, he's told me the name like 3 times and i keep forgetting it, maybe someone can id it, but whatevers, the sexiest track i've ever heard!!!!
when it was time for them to go back to back it didn't work out, steve told me they tried but their programs/something couldn't match up, they were having a hard time, tried for about 45 minutes and gave up. so heidi was there and lee and heidi went back to back. i didn't stay for their whole set, my feet were killing me and i was ready for an afterparty. went to my friends party and was there until about 9 last night, good thing i'm off for break right now, so today doesn't hurt so bad.
all in all a great night, got my picture with both lee and steve(chris hurry and post your pictures please), who knows if that'll ever happen again and they were kind enough to do so. so great seeing so many friends/TA's. avalon stayed full, not uber packed but just right. the crowd, when i was in it, seemed decent but i was on the stage for most of the night. watching steve and lee behind the decks is just as exciting as hearing their tracks, for me the combo is intoxicating so i got the best of both worlds. i was very thankful i got that opportunity and know i was lucky to be allowed up there. |
