| It was a good night. Hopefully we can keep the crowds coming. We were worried about everyone being into the music but they seemed to get it. |

Is this the same dj at emerald on wed night? He plays hip hop with rock stuff?
I started playing the indie electro stuff at lobby on sat nights 3 weeks ago. People def like it but not enough people... I'd be interested in playing anywhere that supports this type of sound, dirty nelly, anywhere. i dig it. |

he DJs at Emerald Wed but he doesn't play the hip hop stuff. Thats Nate. They are the Bayside Scoundrels. He plays the rock and then goes into dance music at 1am.
The Durty Nellys thing is all dance music/indie etc. He played a killer dubstep mini-set last week.

| i went last monday. i dont know who the dj was (black flag t shirt, beard) but he was doin alright, he played decent tunes such as empire of the sun - walking on a dream. he was messing up the beatmatching a few times (dont mind that so much). but the main problem is the sound system and the room. im not sure whats up but it just sounds very abrasive, too much treble or something. sound bounces around too much, like a school cafeteria or gym. i think with some small adjustments to the room or sound system and it will work out much better. sound system is very important to make it work, imagine playing a club with a boombox, just wouldnt work, you know? |

yeah last week he had some equipment problems. The monitor was all messed up and something else was making stuff sound fuzzy too.

the sound and set was much, much better this past week. People actually danced and filled up that room. That was the best one yet. JG (the DJ) figured out the sound problems he was having by doing his own soundcheck and it worked perfectly. No more sound guys for him!
We are trying to make next Monday huge so you should come check it out. I saw fellow TA Coastie out last week. |

| glad to hear it. it would be nice to have a weekly dance party that is not hip hop. just, anything but hip hop, please. im done caring about if its minimal or dub micro broken glitch step or whatever, just give us something that is not hip hop for christs sake. theres 7 other clubs in downtown area that play hip hop, if you want hip hop go to any one of them, bye. |

Was a good time. Brought my friend from class and he said he had a great time. Sound was much better this time and there was a lot more people in the dance room. I like that you can chill and play pool in the back then dance in the front.
On a last note, where in St. Pete can you get such excellent drink prices??? seriously a place to check out if your in the st. pete area, we need more places like this. No more hip-hop like stevesto says, I believe times are changing and we will get more electronic music in st. pete! |
