Thanks for sharing man, actually the whole release is awesome.

Yah this nice, some timelessness in there.

Nice.

Not a bad release. Most of it isn't what I've been into spinning lately, but I did pick up He Said.

i like delano smith, but not this release
i don't think i'll buy any of them
i might have to hear some of these played out before i like them.
eg i never would have liked 'synergy' if i hadn't heard dj dex play it

I don't think you can miss with any of these. At least 3 out of 4 should work well on a dancefloor, if not all, no brainer stuff really. And 3 of them can also double up for using in a mix. Very strong well rounded release from Delano.

:stongue: Ok Boss. I guess you have to see them in action. I already see them in action, and they works.

magic - nice big housey track, but i just can't stand the kenny g loops. i prefer real jazz to these canned loops.
hystery - just sounds like the beginning of a track that smith never finished. cross between a boring unfinished house track and surf rock
xscape - run of the mill vibey house
he said - this is the only one i'd buy. however i think i'd get really bored of it. can't stand those vocal loops either, reminds me of some kind of tenaglia dark prog
basically, nothing on this release stands out to me. they are all just forgettable, run of the mill tracks which will be played out while they still have the 'never heard before' novelty, then 'never heard again'
for me it has little to do with 'how they work'. house music is for dancing, it's not hard to make people dance. i only buy tracks that I think I'll want to keep playing over and over again.
i've already got enough tracks like these

I squarely disagree with everything said here.
Especially the descriptions. Surf Rock? I love that Surf Rock vibe in 'Hystery', if you want to call it that. I think it does great things to the dancers as they listen, probably takes them to Gilligans Island, and for a brief moment they will live out a fantasy with Ginger as the track surfs through their mind and body.
Honestly these are well made, well produced, well mixed pieces of music. Without being pretentious or trying too hard. I dont think they are trying to be grand opus tracks. I think you are cheapening them a bit much through some wild expectations. Plus Kenny G sax is awesome. The problem with Kenny G sax music is, the accompanying music, and the way they record it, it has this eeerie cheese pop vibe. I think in a house setting it can work, as Delano has shown in 'Magic'. The reason why "canned" loops are used is because some House does not need a 16 bar jazz sax improvisation, sometimes a jazzy sax is used in succint loop form simply for nuance and adding vibe, not to overbear the track or be the sole focal point. There is a place for both methods of using Jazz in house music. I think its best to appreciate and understand both uses.
