Summer's here and it's time to GET OUTSIDE - the date is fast approaching for the second annual BEATROOT FESTIVAL!
Join us up in Owen Sound, Ontario from 2 p.m. to 2 p.m. this July 4th and 5th for 24 hours of the finest electronic music Southern Ontario has to offer in a beautiful outdoor setting under the sun and stars!
Remember the days when you could go to parties and hear multiple genres of kickass music all night long? BeatRoot features a passionate and accomplished roster of DJs and PAs kicking out Techno, House, Electro, Breaks, Trance and Drum&Bass on the main stage, with an afternoon sidestage playing chill-out - there’s something for everyone!

Tickets for BeatRoot are only $20 - a phenomenal deal which includes admission to the 75-acre site, parking, your campsite and complimentary BBQ use for the weekend!
Owen Sound is located a short 2.5 hours northwest of Toronto, and the full map and directions for those coming from various southern Ontario locations are available here:

Some considerations for BeatRoot:
- This is a 19+ event - photo ID will be requested at the gate so be sure you have some on you!
- Absolutely NO GLASS BOTTLES - any glass will be confiscated at the gate and will be returned to you upon your leaving the site.
- Please bring your own camping gear, food and drinks and do your best to LEAVE NO TRACE by cleaning up as you go!
- Positive vibes only - no attitude, no problem! Play safe and respect your fellow partiers!
- Re: tickets - I have 30 tickets on hand for Toronto and area people, and you can also purchase your tix at the gate - if you'd like to buy your ticket in advance, please get in touch with me via PM or email at pivottechno at gmail dot com so we can arrange a time to meet up! Please keep in mind that the DJs (myself included) get paid by the number of tickets we sell, so if you do go up, all you have to do when you purchase your ticket at the gate is mention that you heard about the event through WestsideWax/Ian Elliott/PivotTechno and you'll be lending a big hand in helping to cover some of my expenses for the weekend!

5 days 'til!
Forecast for Owen Sound for the weekend is *SUNNY* with highs around 20C, perfect dance-your-ass-off-in-the-grass weather! There will be some bonfire action on the go at night, but be sure to bring layers to wear for when it gets cooler.

Here's some last minute deets for those heading up today:
Map Action
BALLOONS WILL MARK THE TURN FROM HIGHWAY 26 TO IRISH BLOCK ROAD.
You can also use the Woodford Baptist Church as a landmark.
Approximately 1 km later there will be a sign on the right indicating where you should turn.
Make sure to turn right at the first driveway after the first sideroad (22).
More balloons on the right will guide you in.
Ample signage will also be posted in the immediate area.

TICKETS ARE $20 AT THE GATE (CASH ONLY) - please remember to mention where you heard about the fest when you arrive at the gate!
SWIMMING:
Hibou Park is open from mid-June to Labour Day weekend and it has swimming, picnicing, playgrounds, washrooms and trails for visitors to enjoy for a small fee ($2 or $3).
It is located on County Road 15, just 0.4 km northeast of Owen Sound. (This is a 4/5 minute drive from the party and maps will be available.)
EATING:
-Feel free to use one of three barbeques at any time (bbq equipment will be on hand).
-Organic fruits, Veggie Patties, bottled water and juice will be available at a fair price.
-There will be access to clean drinking water so please bring a refillable bottle.
