Traktor issue

So I bought Traktor DUO recently, and I realize most of you probably don't have DUO but id assume it runs mostly like PRO. I cannot for the life of me get absolute mode to work.

I've got Traktor hooked up to my 2 cdj-200s and my Rane Empath mixer, I've got all the correct input and output settings, the decks are calibrated correctly, and i'm on scratch mode. Yet absolute mode still wont work. I've tried trolling the NI forums for like 4 hours and still have come up empty handed.

I've attached some screenshots for reference and if anyone could offer me some advice to get absolute mode working id really appreciate it. If not I might as well return the product because it's useless to me.

hmmm the first screen shot looks kinda weird. The time code looks kinda distorted. Check to make sure that you have LINE IN/CD selected on the audio4 instead of vinyl timecode

You can change it in the audio4 control panel settings thingy.

Under Settings->Audio Settings? Or is there a different audio4 control panel?

under C:\program files\native instruments\audio4\control panel or audio 4 settings....its one of those...i dont have my laptop infront of me at the moment.

Just curious.. If the cdj's don't have vinyl mode can you still use absolute mode, sounds odd but i'd presume the cdj's would need to be able to read the cd's in vinyl mode to be able to emulate absolute mode in traktor...

Not sure if that makes sense :)

Changing it to line in fixed everything. I also got a resposne from a guy at NI saying the same thing. Thanks a ton!

I actually recently bought TSD as well and it took me quite some time to figure out how to switch the audio 4 to line mode. The manual included did a pretty shabby job in explaining everything imo.

@ n3lly,

I guess it would work but you wouldnt be able to scratch. On a cdj if you turn the vinyl mode off it still works, it just acts as a pitch bend when you try to scratch.

Glad you got it fixed.

You would be surprised at the number of big name djs who genuinely have no idea how to troubleshoot traktor issues and leave it to the engineer-ie me- who they expect to know it inside and out to fix it...
Ridiculous...

Like the ass (who shall remain nameless) who had a pop at me because the cue wasnt returning it to the start (ie, it was in relative mode not absolute)... if its your ing livelihood at least have some idea of how to use the damn thing.
