In the comics, do other Transformers have transporter technology? If they don't, then why? You'd think the Decepticons would kill for it.
well jetfire/skyfire was a decepticon and in the original cartoons was a transporter for the autobots....there was a space bridge too in it so I guess they just incorporated the space bridge into a special power for him
just watched it in IMAX and liked it...you dont walk into a michael bay film hoping for the movie to keep you at the edge of your seats or have your mind go crazy...
my main beef is the fact that someone forgot to think about which characters were doing what....the constructicons were in the midst of the battle (blatantly notice long haul and mixmaster) while devastator was climbing up the pyramid...hello?

Neo is also from a different movie, on a world that is depicted as being much different from our own. Also, all of the cool Neo did was inside a virtual-reality program, save for a couple of instances at the end of part 2 and part 3, his powers were limited to his time within the Matrix. The instances at the end could be explained away with some drivel about his mental 'connection' to the matrix, and thus the machines that are also connected to it.
His point was that in Transformers, since the world is depicted as being exactly the same as our own, there is no reason to accept that weed makes people drunk (his exact words were "humans to be able to breathe underwater or teleport at will too", the specifics are different, the principle is the same), based solely on the fact that there happen to be Alien Robots present on the planet.
Moreover, we can't say whether or not there really ARE Alien Robots in the Universe. But we DO know the typical effects of a weed brownie don't include running around screaming loudly. That type of behaviour is much more often associated with drunkenness. Therefore, it IS easier to accept a reality where Alien Robots are present on the earth than it is to accept that weed will make you drunk.
There is little excuse for the poor scene being included in the movie, it didn't belong in the first place, and when they included it anyway, they ed it up.

as far as i remember the only decepticon able to teleport was skywarp (an identical jet to starscream in the original cartoon. And i only think he did it in the first episode.
Jetfire aka skyfire was in fact a decepticon as originally depicted in the cartoon and switched sides later on. In the cartoon he was a scientist with starscream and older then megatron as megatron was created during the autobot decepticon war. So jetfire's age can be justified a bit in the movie.
The matrix had different meanings in the cartoon and comics etc. Basically they did a decent job in depicting it in the movie.
Devastator looked so ugly.
couldnt they do something similar to this?
and arcee. why motorcycles.. a car would be fine.

Hilarious Q&A about the movie. They pretty much rip it a new :
BTW, I haven't seen the movie. I think I'll wait till it's on Bluray so I can fast forward the ty parts. I'd imagine I'll be watching like 30 mintutes of the movie then..
gummybear
just saw this movie last night..IT SUCKED ASS..
the whole love story thing..so lame...no plot..action scenes dragged on for so loooooong...they first one was so good but they totally ruined it for me with this piece of crap..

the problem with this movie is they tried to cater to way too many types of audiences.
anyone notice how many times the word "" and genital related words were used? cmon...that cant be PG...
anyways...as compared to the rest of you who just seem to be jumping on the bandwagon (dont even know why you people bothered watching if you KNEW it was going to suck), I quite enjoyed this movie for what it was
samhouse
i thought it was decent. well perhaps more than decent.
never watched the original cartoons too much so i don't care much for historical accuracy.

Ok, I went and saw it last night. I wasn't expecting that much.....and thats exactly what I got.
I loved the first movie, and really hoped this one would come through but it just didn't do it for me and here's why:
Edit: SPOILER ALERT (sorry FunkyCrew)
-they went WAY over the top on the humor for me, really took away from the movie to the point where I couldn't take it seriously.
-the parents being invloved seemed like a total afterthought and was so stupid
-the storyline had some real potential but it just didn't follow through
-the end fight with the "Fallen" was one shot????? WTF???? No battle?
-even Megatron seemed like a wimp
-so the transformers can turn into people? then why don't they do that more often??????
Very disappointing for me, but at least Megan Fox looked hot...
Most of the decepticons were underused in this film quite a bit. I liked the character of the fallen, but he wasn't used properly. And the movie is WAAAAYYY too long and improperly paced. At some points you sit there for 30 min for something to happen. Given the CGI is outstanding but it can't save this film. 4/10.
