Hi all,

I’m a long-time frequent of these boards but new poster. Anyway, I’ve just come back from a 6-7 year hiatus from producing and wanted to share my new production, “Pursuit of Happiness” with you guys and get some constructive feedback if possible.

In terms of style, the track can be categorized as uplifting/epic trance….very melodic. Other than some minor EQ’ing on the kick, no mastering work has been done yet on this and frankly, I’m not too familiar with the art of mastering. Hopefully I can get some good tips from you guys. I know I’ll need to add in compression as a whole. Also, in my opinion it sounds a bit “anemic” against released tracks that I’ve compared it to. Let me know if you feel the same.

Well, not much else to say other than I hope you enjoy the track and feel the urge to comment, etc. Thanks for listening!

I really dig this sound. The strings at the break are really nice, the only thing that stood out to me were the claps that came in when you built it back up.. they seemed to pop out a bit too much, I dunno. Other than that I really like what you did with the tune and felt the energy in it :D

Hey Icrqq thanks a lot for the listen & comment. I think one of the feature aspects I really wanted to get across was the driving energy and peak-time, big room feel so I'm glad you felt it. Take care man!

Pretty good track. First off I didn't really enjoy the percussion parts of your track. They sound very basic and defaulty. You definitely need to play around with the EQ on the claps they sound to hollow. Other than that this is a pretty sweet track.

Listening in.

As mentioned before , the intro percs are kind of standard sounding.

Some nice sounds in there.

And that stops far to abruptly for me before the breakdown.
Nice tune.
Claps sound to off for me.

Overall nice tune , needs work on sounding good though.
