Sorry , really sorry , but this is pretty darn horrible.
The original wasnt the best , and you really gave your selves a baptism of fire trying to remix this.
Everything sounds so tinny and standard.
I cant hear no effects , no EQ'ing and no stereo adjustment , and usually youtube HQ can let you hear it.
But how long have you been producing and what do you use? |

| I know that is not much. But what counts is the intention. It isnt expected that in 1 or 2 days of editing to produce something with quality, but was the best I could do. Who thinks that can do better in the same time can try...this is a further incentive for people reediting this beautiful music of Tiesto. From what I see, there are no better remixes on youtube (exept the versions from elements of life remixed) ... I hope that this will change.Am using Reason. Thanks for the review |

Yes but i started out with the best intention too , we all do , and i also took critisism hard , but ive spent alot of time researching sounds and production , thanx especially to the producers fourm in here.
Elements of life has always been a cookie cutter and yes it is good while your off your in a club.
But ive put together stuff in a couple of days that has got good reviews in here.
Just remember a sound is ,and or can be more important than the note it plays. |

| The intro of that video is a bit dramatic, don't you think? |

| Nice attempt, gotta give you props to have the balls to attempt to remix something as mainstream as Tiesto. But yes, work on the sound and sample selection and last but not least, keep at it. We all had to start somewhere right? |

Well, guess you're kinda on the start of the producing journey, read up everything there's on this site and on tweakheadz about production and learn to use it.
There's two points I think you missed, there's not a lot of remixes of this tune because the original is crap anyway (yup, I said it), and because everyone can't just license Tiesto for remixing like any average joe (no pun intended), and the home producers rather do something else, since there's not a lot of warm water to be discovered with remixing the tune.
Also, sadly in this world the end product counts a lot more than the good intention. Actually, the good intention doesn't matter at all if you're ever thinking of going serious in the producing world. Nobody wants to listen to good intentioned crap sound, it's the way world spins right now.
Best of luck and hope you learn a lot fast, just keep producing and absorb knowledge where you can, progression is key, we've all started out at your level :) |
