I'm saying that very generally. There are obviously many issues. It would kill me for a strong top-of-the ticket to try and choose her again for the VP role... he'd be ing himself. And I just don't think she'd win the nomination for President, but I really don't think she'll try to run anyway (wishful thinking?). I'm ok with her being around to give speeches though because she can draw a crowd. But uh... I kinda hope it stops there.

And these GOP favorable numbers are from before the Sanford bombshell:

You essentially see Hispanics and “others” converging with African-Americans’ dim view of the Republicans. An interesting question here is whether this is a genuine meeting of the minds, or else just an artifact of the reality that black support for Republicans is pushing up against the zero bound, so that as a sinking tide drowns the GOP boat among all racial groups, the black/non-black gap necessarily gets smaller.
Maybe the GOP will see a Hispanic bump now that we know Sanford loves Latinas?

Here's another area where we disagree. I literally think the world would explode if she became President of the United States. She doesn't have the gravitas, much less the intellect to handle any of the issues the President deals with daily. I'd rather move to Russia and see America from my house.

what is fox doing?
i haven't read too much about this, but if he went to argentina for the weekend, and it didn't really interfere with his position, so what? It's better then buying an overpriced hooker from NJ (Spitzer) or bangin out some israeli dude (McGreevey).

Yes the GOP is being polled with the lowest approval ratings ever.

By contrast, the Republican Party is viewed favorably by only 36 percent of the public, down from 51 percent three years ago, and the lowest in Washington Post polling history http://voices.washingtonpost.com/wh...of-the-gop.html
So much for family values and sanctity of marriage.
Are we really parsing out 2010/2012 scenarios? Give me a break. A major donkey -up to shift public opinion notwithstanding, I'm calling a democrat landslide right now. Bu-bye GOP..

oddly enough (not really), I was watching the same press conference on Fox. That was the bottom line at the beginning of the speech before he unloaded. It didn't take long for the caption to have the words "affair" and "infidelity" on it. Haha... come on man that's a momentary snapshot. And you were busting up that guy from NRO about making mountains out of mole hills?
Edit: repost, but again this just becomes more and more relevant with every adulturous scandal
Ensign is scum, but Sanford will resign here very shortly, or the party will force him out according to the SC legislature.

Someone's forgetting about Paul Morrison, Eliot Spitzer, and John "give me a bastard child while my wife has cancer" Edwards. LOL are you seriously making this a partisan issue?

You're outraged that people are parsing 2010/2012 scenarios... then you call for your prediction of 2010/2012? LOLOL!!!

Lol - I just saw that the caption labeled him a democrat. Everyone knows my political leaning, and I just don't see this as a big deal. People are hypocrits, dudes bang hot chicks when they can (especially from argentina, she must have been smoking if he flew to argentina), and they hide they don't necessarily want exposed. I get it that politicians have a greater duty to serve the people, but if this was a normal vacation or if he did a bloomberg and went to israel or some other place on "official business - wink" this wouldn't be an issue. I don't care about his infidelity, I applaud his ability to score what I presume is a dope latina chica. Or, maybe I'm just a scumbag. ;)
Bottom line - if his action didn't have a real impact on his ability to execute his duties I don't think its relevant. If some real happened, I'm sure he has a cell phone and can coordinate on a conference call like the rest of the business world does.
