I'm sure you've been asked this so many times that it's not even funny. Jetée, what is it, how did you end up with it, and what does it mean?

Watched 12 Monkeys last night, and noticed that it was based on a book named La Jetée, now I'm curious.

It's actually a short film directed by Chris Marker that consists entirely of still images.

Had a glimpse at a few caps..

Now this, looks like something that I really need to check out. Anyone of you actually seen it? Have you, SYSTEM-J?

No, actually, although I've been meaning to for a few years. My friend got one of Chris Marker's other films out of the library recently, but the blurb on the back sounded ridiculously pretentious and wanky.

Because it's so short, you might be able to find it to view online somewhere. Let me know if you do.

The official runtime is 28 mins, I found this 27 min video so it's probably the whole shebang, excluding the end credits.

Now if it only had subtitles :(

La Jetée = The pier. Don't know if that helps.
