A lot of people have posted their take on this, so i'm posting up a sample of what I've done thus far. I haven't incorporated the vocals very well, I guess it's because i'm not working around the original melody and I know they don't fit great right now.

Anyway, hopefully it's a little different! Feedback would be great, as I know it's not great in a technical sense :)

Cheers, Owen.

I really enjoyed listening to it, of course there's some polishing left on the sound front, but nothing major except kick could be more punchier.
I actually like the way the vocals are set in the track, making them a part of the groove and not making them stand out, flows really nice.

Thumbs up for sure!

Thanks very much, glad you think they worked! I should hopefully get this completed over the weekend :)

good effort mate, the whole track is quality right up until the break. As mentioned above i like the way you used the vocals as more rhythm/groove during the build. Also, didnt like your kick drum, aside from that, another thumbs up dude.

Damn every remix I hear of this track is breaks (mine included hahaha) :-p

Hmm.. how would one classify this track? Deep house breaks, is there such a genre?

Anyway, great remix, and yea the kick is about the only thing I can think of that needs to be redone.

EDIT: Also dug your remix of offshore.

Cheers folks! I'll have to check the kick drum(s), I actually thought it was too loud to be honest :P I'll see what I can do though. Thanks for the interest.

Very nice vibe to it...once the vocal is properly implemented it'll get sounding quality. I agree with the others on the kick thing...might not enjoy the sample that much, but either way, great work so far

Thanks a bunch, appreciate the listen. Still finding it quite hard to work the vocals in, but I'm hoping to fit properly them somehow :)

Well you've got 2 options here as far as vocal goes.
Either you proceed on the path you've taken with them as making them a part of the groove, or make them stand out, which requires reworking the original groove then.

I'd recommend keeping them as they are, not making them stand out, as it's not in the "soul" of the track at all.

It's your decision though :)

I might keep them as they are now, with a few extra tweaks. It's not that I don't like them, I think they sound great, but I wanted to make a different approach on the melody and didn't think much about the vocals when doing so :p I'll see how it goes.
