Hello tranceaddict users :)

I am new here although i have been browsing this site for many months! i should have signed up earlier i know.

I have only really started producing trance / house over the last six months although i have a fair bit of experience producing rnb and hip hop. I have been doing this for around 3 years.

I recently bought a sample cd (after a lot of research on forums) called vengeance fx vol 2. Although it was ok i didn't really find it that inspiring and the sound quality wasn't really amazing either. Kind of dissapointed with it really.

Is there any other sound effects sample cds out there that cater for sweeps, explosions, hits etc for use in trance house music? When i used to produce rnb i didn't really use a lot of fx. House and trance is different though. Price isn't really an option as long as its under $100 and is high in quality.

Very similar to vengeance but currently not as overused.

Ueberschall Future FX - An excellent soure of sounds but most require further editing an and least that way you can get somthing unique.

Mutekki Media - FX Pearls Vol 1 & 2 - I brought Vengeance Essential FX Vol 1 back in 2004 and these were still around then so may be a bit dated. However Ihavn't used them so Ican't confirm

I'd recommend making your own FX with synths (pads are usually excellent) and creative abuse of reverb and delay, does wonders :)

For small fx just throw a percussion on and mash it in most inhuman ways possible and exactly the way you want them.
That's the way FX's are made anyway ;)

yep, and if you've got a microphone, you can create numerous fx simply by recording yourself exhaling let alone sampling random stuff and mangling with your choice of effects

Camel Alchemy is good for making FX. You can load pictures into it and it creates a riff out of it. Find a sound you like, sample your missuses and load it in. Et voila, some Boob FX :p
