Due to circumstances outside of our control we have had to move the event to Hughes Springs, TX. The venue we had in Austin has experienced some noise complaint issues, so it was in our best interest to move the gathering. No other suitable venues in Austin were available that didn't also have issues with sound. Armadillo Acres is the new venue, and those who are familiar with the regional burn event Myschevia should recognize the name of the venue. It is a very lush venue that offers lots of camping space, tall trees, lush greeen meadows, and swimming in the local areas. So, without further ado take a gander at the finalized details and make note of the changes.

Your journey takes place in the land of Armadillo Acres. This beautiful east Texas venue offers thick wooded areas with tall trees, lush green meadows, creeks and a pond for swimming, and of course lots of camping space. The address is FM 2612 Loop, Hughes Springs, TX 75656.

Camping:
The Katie Guild rules over this land and requests that you leave no trace of your existence on their land when you leave. Please pack out what you pack in....that includes your trash. Cigarette butts are TO NOT HIT THE GROUND. Please bring a tin, like an Altoids package, to place your butts in or use your back pocket. Show some respect for the land owners, the promoters, yourself and the Earth. Ins and outs will be allowed, but re-entry is solely permitted to those wearing wrist bands provided at the gate upon paid admittance. No wrist band...no re-entry, no exceptions....no excuses.

"Physical Embodiment for a Long Night"
This workshop will prepare your body and mind for a long night of dancing and exploration. We will draw on several different movement paradigms, including laban movement analysis, bartenieff fundamentals, clowning, mime, physical comedy, and your own personal experiences. We will build nonverbal communication skills, expressive movement ability, and grounding/centering movements. This course will take your dancing up to the next level and help you have the most fantastic night possible. Kinetic Monkey is a Certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst, Dancer, Clown, and a member of the Hofmann Drive, a psy-downtempo project in Austin, TX.
Green/Eco/Sustainable Living workshop provided by Chadman. More details to follow as this shall be an interactive/hands on workshop
Yoga led by Lydia Marolda
Vending:
Jewelry by Sadhana Earth Creations, organic soap by Home Grown Sudz - www.homegrownsudz.etsy.com, & organic soap, jam/jelly & crochet work by Ronnie. Tom Mimosa will be selling his unique soap made from mimosa hostilis root bark. It has medicinal properties and it great for skin irritations/ailments.
We are also encouraging all those who have hand drums to bring them out. We would like to have a community drum circle for the hour leading up to the start of the music on Saturday night.
A sanctuary will be provided for those who wish to get away for a little while and find their inner peace.
Cost:
$25 for both nights
$20 for Saturday night
The gates will open at 6PM Friday night, and close at 3AM Saturday morning. The gates will re-open at noon on Saturday, and close again at 3AM Sunday morning. Arrive early for the best camping spots. |

You might have noticed that the second post had no concession information because the concessions were Austin based, and this party has been moved 5.5 hours away from the original location. Kind of why I said in my opening paragraph to make note of the changes. Reading comprehension ftw.

Hey I half-heartedly chuckled at Zeon's post while re-iterating what has already been said. I don't assume that anyone actually reads all posts.
As far as your comment was concerned.....joking comments are usually followed by different emoticons than the "wtf" one that you used. Regardless it matters none, for it takes a lot more than these posts to offend me. This is par for the course when it comes to forum posts :) |
