I'll post more epic review when I'm done dozing in and out of consciousness.

It's a goddamn shame Republic wasn't packed deep for this, because this ing owned. Exceed threw down a starting set that was eerily beatmatched almost perfectly to the funky shadowplay slideshow thingy the club had playing on the screen, and it was hypnotically good. Parsons, the kind gentleman who was working the door while Exceed spun who stamped my wrist, came on right after and dropped a sweet transition set that absolutely did not suck, and it was almost a shame when he did have to get off the decks because he was holding it down hardcore. Then Ronski came on and just threw down maximum carnage. It was bomb after bomb and the crowd was just eating it up. I don't think he played a track with lyrics that I couldn't groove to. Just an awesome, awesome sound, from when I got there at about 2230 all the way to 0300 when they turned the house lights on. Props to Republic for the great evening.

As I said, though, this place should have been packed, but wasn't. Republic is maybe a third the size of Sky Lounge and there was plenty of maneuver room all night long. This gig deserved a better showing, and it saddens me that it didn't get it.

Carlos, the pleasure was all mine. Ryan, great to meet you, too, finally.

I gotta say I agree with Nathan on this. RL should have been hella-packed, if not sold-out by means of this insane ass night. I brag about how some of these gigs just hit the spot, but by GOD Ronski stirred up pure energy in this place with his set.

Dj Exceed was the perfect intro to this night. Andrew definitely tore the roof off the place, no questions. He threw down some hot tracks, and one I recognized was that remix of "Laktos" which was killer. It was finally nice to meet this guy as well. Great guy and great times were had.

I caught Ronski sitting down shuffling through his Mac. I went up to the guy and presented myself, asking him if he'd remembered the guy who emailed him asking about the shirt needed that Euphonic didn't have in my size on the website. He definitely remembered, and then we started a conversation about music. One of the tracks that he produced about 5 years ago that still makes me shiver when I listen to it is "E.O.S.". I told him that song inspired me in way too many ways. He smiled and said "I can't believe I just heard someone from Texas actually say that song has inspired them. I can't believe someone here would know me that much". I pulled out the cd sleeve I brought with me and asked if he could autograph it for me. He looked at it with some sort of "wow, someone here actually has my album"-kind of look, smiled again and said "I'll personalize it for you Carlos". I never thought I'd see the day where I'd be 5 feet from watching one of my favorite producers ever, let alone have a conversation with the guy. He played his mashup of "Oceanlab vs. Ronski - E.O.S. Satellite" and that just felt like a rush of angels flowing through me.

Last but not least, I hope everyone in this community gets a chance to meet Nathanial M (Zeonfiend) in person. This guy is not only the epicenter of testing man's inner-level of laugh, but a someone with one helluva character. From war stories to mortars dropping near port-o-potties to music and beer, I couldn't leave to get another beer without catching something excruciatingly hilarious from Nathan. May this gig never even get close to being the last time we hang out again.

As always, it was nice to see Ryan again and (sorry dude, forgot your gf's name), Andrew and Kelly, Nathan, and I'm not sure but I think I may have seen Darren (Screen).

Did I also mention that I epically dodged every camera in the place the entire night, too? :D Got fifty comments about the Deadpool shirt but not a single lens caught it. Photographic Obfuscation be ninjacore! :tongue2

Yeah, the place is pretty huge.. so it fits like 700 lol.. we got a lot of people out & the show was a big success!! I really appreciate everyone who made it out! & thanks for the kind compliments on my set!

The vibe was THICK as hell though, EVERYONE was dancing till the end, which is unheard of. Thanks for an amazing night.

Next up, Sydney Blu @ Aces, Prefuse73 @ Aces & Jim Rivers @ Republic
