definitely the best set i've heard this year. the variety was impressive, going from funky jazzy stuff (a remix of Mr. Scruff's "Get a move on"), to hard bangin' tracks and then beautiful melody. It never got boring and I think out of the whole set I only disliked 2-3 tracks.
Only weird thing in the night was Greg Gow playing "Dark Flower" right before Joris came on...seems strange to take away the headliner's biggest track. Joris played it later on anyway though.
I've been quite bored with the last few dj's i've heard, and I have to say that this night has renewed my faith in the scene. |

Easily one of the best sets I've ever heard in FW. It was the perfect blend of old, new, tech, house, prog.. it was all in there!
...even Professional Widow for good measure!
Thanks to everyone who fought through Pride/Canada Day hangovers to make this a wicked show!

hands down best set of the year!
perfect mix of funky, groovy house and techno! loved his energy behind the decks, and the fact that FW was at perfect capacity
haven't danced that hard in ages

Yeah a recorded set would be amazing! He played kind of similar to his last set at AWAKENINGS, but that set was bad sound, it was fun to hear him play some tracks that were recognizable from that one, been bumping it in my car for a week or two now.

Amazing night, great vibe, wicked club (First time at footwork)...such a good crowd to. And was there with some friends, met up with some friends and got a chance to meet some more TA's which was nice!
It was great how much fun Joris was having too! He looked like he was having an amazing time! I bet that if he didn't have to play MTL the next afternoon he woulda played much longer since he was so into it!
Weird and caught me very off gaurd to hear Greg Gow play Robert Babicz - Dark flower (Joris Voorn Remix) before Joris... and I heard from some people that Joris was actually PISSED that he did that. But it was not confirmed or anything... And Nitin started trying to play towards the end of Joris's set was weird to, had his headphones on and going through his CDs. I saw Joris pull him aside telling him he was not done yet...and played a few more tracks. But in redemption, Nitin's closing set was great and tons of fun, glad I stayed for it!
I have some video, but have to clean it up because it was SOO LOUD in there the bass is clipping in the vids, plus a few shots are dark, hopefully I may be able to brighten them up a bit and clean up the audio for posting so people who FAILED to show up will get a glimspe of what they missed!
I am so very VERY glad I made the trip to Toronto and footwork to see this show. Definently one of the best nights (possible sets) i've heard in a long long time!
I still have goosebumps from the night, why he wasn't here before it beyond me, CODE and Platform...thank you for bringing him here and someone please bring him back again soon! |
