| its just sad to see that someone like Guetta is more "popular" than James Holden, Desyn Masiello, Menno De Jong, Josh Gabriel, Adam Beyer, Tom Middleton, Guy Gerber or even Nathan Fake. |

read this thread before making such a stupid comment. for the 500th time... Position on a damn flyer doesn't mean jack squat. If anything it means guetta is closing one night.. armin the other.
Annnnd people also pay or have top billing part of their contracts. Get over it.
It's not a big fuking deal.

ummm ok.. i'll just get out of your way so you don't shoot me down like you americans do when you get mad
whos making a big deal of it? i just said that based on a comment someone else made that being on top means they're more popular which i can understand as a lot of ppl i know who don't like EDM know of or heard of Guetta and Armin but they wouldn't know Holden, but in terms of the EDM community the guys down there have more of a respect here. |

not really sad at all. it's actually pretty logical especially in reference to everyone that you listed except menno de jong based on genre. most of their fan base would prefer it, because god knows if any of those guys ever got the popularity that guetta got on the radio, peoples heads on this forum would implode.
omg my underground music is getting attention? , time to find a new genre to listen to and follow so i can bash on everyone else who listens to that cheese... |

| Everyone loves a good bashing. The "underground"-heads love bashing the "mainstream" people, and the "mainstream" people love bashing the "underground"-heads for being "elitist." |

you have a good point, but it's definitely more common for the people who keep going deeper and deeper in search of "underground" stuff to bash on everyone else, and i mean everyone. i still listen to trance, dont bash on anything else really except for the attitudes of some people on this forum in specific, and dont consider myself a listener of mainstream or underground music.
im just a listener, but im sure some people would love to comment on how trance is mainstream (which is pretty far from true at this point) |

i could care less if its underground or mainstream. good records are good records. what the is underground now days anyways...? those days are over. i started listening to this since mid 90's and it was already almost non-underground. am i wrong>?
put deadmouse in the thread topic and you're guaranteed five pages.

i guess it depends on your outlook on what underground is, and where you are. here in the states, i definitely think most edm outside of basshunter/cascada/guetta and all that jazz is mostly underground. if you asked most people walking down the street what a Tiesto was, most people would either say they dont know him or call him the best techno DJ to exist. ever. |

That's where you're wrong. A lot of us like to "go deeper and deeper" in search of good music, not what's "underground". ;) |
