Forget about it. Australian dealers aren't interested in matching prices, I've tried for years. They just give you a blank look.
Good to see some of the "trial" users giving this a go though, goes to show that people will buy a good reasonably priced product, even if they can get it free otherwise. |

You can look through these threads:
FM synthesis thread
Programming FM: Part I
I explore a whole bunch of FM sounds in there, and talk about how they work. It's all done using FM7, but the two synths are really similar so you should be able to get something from it. |

I picked it up, it's a crazy price. I've been tempted to try NI's tools, at this price I can't pass it up. Obviously they need some money, good to see a lot of people are taking up the offer. It'd be annoying if you'd just bought the package at full price though. |
I doubt very much is NI needs the money, more likely to be an all new set on its way, be the same instruments, new and improved or introducing a some new synths etc in Komplete 6 or whatever they call it.
rememberyou heard it here first :P

It seems that shipping is free - and at the current exchange rate, the package works out around $AUD500. |

Funny that because everything I've bought has always been at a lower price than advertised. Too easy when most Aussies don't even know what haggling is.
Admittedly software can be a bitch to lower price on but when it comes to hardware you can shave hundreds even thousands off prices if you know what you're doing. |

I just picked this up at Guitar Center (Yes, I know, but the one near me has a pretty decent production department)...Got $60 knocked off with a 15% off coupon. :)
I didn't know that Komplete was RTAS compatible, which makes me even happier. Finally gonna put ProTools MIDI to the test. :D |

Indeed, it takes a lot of work. Certainly not for the feint-hearted |

No.
You're getting a fantastic package of virtual synthesizers and samplers for an incredible price (I'm loving it right now!).
Even if Kontakt 4 or Reaktor 6 were to come out who gives a really?
You don't need to be bleeding edge!
Besides. When (not a matter of if) they DO release a Komplete 6, one would assume you'd be eligible for upgrade pricing. |

If nervous = anxiously awaiting a new version of Battery 3 with (hopefully) a built-in step sequencer ala Guru/BPM, then yes, I'm nervous. ;)
I'm still on the fence about Komplete 5 and probably won't buy it because I already have the NI synths that I really want (Kontakt 3, Absynth 3/4, FM8, Massive, Battery 3), but there are a few in there that I wouldn't mind having, particularly Reaktor, Akoustic Piano, Elektric Piano, and Pro-53. But, the way I look at it is I'll probably be able to pick up a used version of Komplete 5 in a year or so for around $200. Hopefully pianos and modular synths won't be "dated" by then. :haha: |
